Anyone's child had vomiting after Covid vaxx?

The context is that my 7yo DD and 6yo DD both had their first Covid vaccines this afternoon, around 3pm-ish. At 6pm, my DD vomited, then again at 7:15pm, and a couple of times more around 8:30/9ish.

Not looking for health advice, but more anecdotal information. I'm not overly concerned with her, health-wise (of course it's never fun to see your children feeling poorly), but I would be interested to know if its the vaxx or a tummy bug. It does list vomiting as a common side effect (1 in 10).

If this is a side effect, would it begin that quickly (3hrs)?

It's unlikely to be food poisoning as she eats an incredibly limited bland diet.

Bowls and baby wipes are at the ready for the next round 🤮

Not a child, but my young adult DC had vomiting. Started feeling queasy Friday evening about six hours after the vaccine, vomiting soon after, had chills and felt feverish for a few hours. Quite miserable all night, not keeping anything down, headache. Saturday started being able to keep down some fluids and a small amount of food. Not too bad that second night - just a bit restless - and bounced out of bed Sunday morning feeling nearly normal.

Good luck, hope your daughter feels better soon!

Thank you Saracen
She vommed a few times overnight but not since 1am so fingers crossed she's on the mend!

My (20 yo) son had nausea & vomiting the evening after his first jab. It's a known side effect, as you said. He didn't have anything with the next two.

As others said, not a child but I vomitted nine times in 12 hours after my first Astrazanica jab. Had a fever of 39, hot and cold sweats, the lot. Stopped abruptly at the 12 hour mark - very strange! All further jabs have been absolutely fine, no side effects whatsoever.

Also not a child, but I felt nauseous within minuites of my first jab. I put it down to nerves, as I was days over 40, with the whole no AZ for under 40s.
But it happened again with the second one too. Lasted about 12 hrs each time, but I never actually vomited.

I think given how contagious stomach bugs are (especially in young children!) you'd expect both of your DDs to have those symptoms if it was a virus. So probably more likely to be a side effect?

Fingers crossed it's short lived Flowers

Update... My DD had vomited from 3hrs post-vaxx to 10 hours post-vaxx and woke up fine and well.

My 6yo DS (typo in original post) started feeling nauseous at 6pm tonight (so that would be 27hrs post vaxx) and then had vomited all over his bed when we came to bed at 10:45 😔
I'm now guessing it's more likely to be a bug, given how long it had been between his vaxx and start of his symptoms 🤷‍♀️
They were both at a party on Sunday so I might put the feelers out tomorrow to see if anyone elses kids have been poorly.

I am now going to sleep with alarm set for 1am to check him in case of any more sleep-vomming. Lovely pile of bedding in the bath to sick-scrape in the morning 🤮
