I noticed that taking ibuprofen seems to reduce the coughing and tight chest as well as reducing the headache and joint pain.
Sharing in case this is helpful for anyone else.

Yes I have found this too. I don't understand why as everything I've read says it won't help but it makes a massive difference to my covid cough.

I have asthma and have been advised to stay away from ibuprofen because of the negative effect it can have. I would t take it as standard to help a cough through covid because if you do end up with any breathing difficulties they could be made worse by ibuprofen. Not a medic though, just my thoughts.

I would NOT take it...Blush

Some possible mechanisms described here - something to do with micro blood clots or inflammation maybe, both of which might plausibly be affected by ibuprofen.

Obviously if you have been personally advised by a doctor not to take ibuprofen, don't take it. But if you are okay to take it and you find it seems to help - or not to help - share because sometimes anecdotes can turn into useful evidence.

Fair enough. But I think it would be well advised for anyone to spend to a medic before taking ibuprofen in this way.
