I’m late 30s with a toddler who doesn’t sleep well which is probably adding to it. My ability to exercise is much reduced, one poor nights sleep is enough to through me over the weekend edge and my ability to exercise is much reduced. If you have experienced similar when did it get better?

It took me about six weeks to be normal again. It's quite normal to still be fatigued at this stage, unfortunately. You'll get back to yourself soon, fingers crossed! For me, it happened quite suddenly, iyswim. I thought oh god will ths every end, and suddenly it did! GWS!

We are 4 weeks post covid, DS’s 29 and 26 both come home from work, have dinner and go to bed for a couple of hours. I am still napping in the day and another 30 minutes in the evening. DH sleeps around 2/3 hours in the day, but is up at 6 am. I have a lot more energy this week, which is just as well as my house is absolutely filthy, due to hardly any cleaning being done whilst we were ill.

Thanks. I suspected as much, luckily my toddler needed a nap today so I was able to nap too.

I'm not knackered but do find I'm going to bed a bit early and ache all over 3 weeks in. So far it's nothing that can't be handled with paracetamol but I would really like it to go away now.

Duracellbunnywannabe · 05/04/2022 19:28

Thanks. I think if I could get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep it would be better.

So good to read a thread with someone going through the same. I’m in week 2 and I just can’t function I’m so tired. I can’t do my job properly. I’m exhausted all the time. Cannot wait for this to improve.

I'm on week 6. Dr said they only start blood tests etc after 3 weeks so to try not to panic. The headaches and nausea are ridiculous

OutingHobby · 06/04/2022 16:34

3 months sorry

underneaththeash · 06/04/2022 20:44

Most people I know who've had significant symptoms - it's been 3-4 weeks.
It's not "just a cold", but we still do need to get on with it

Jules912 · 06/04/2022 22:03

@OutingHobby

3 months sorry
NHS website said 4 weeks so was planning to call my doctor if still I'll next week, sounds like I may as well wait a bit longer.

I tested positive 3 weeks ago and am absolutely exhausted- can barely do anything. Weirdly my sore throat/chest cough has just returned too.

NHS website said 4 weeks so was planning to call my doctor if still I'll next week, sounds like I may as well wait a bit longer. that's what I did. I don't have breathing difficulties etc but they did write me a fit note so work are a bit more understanding if I get too tired etc. Then after 3 months they'll do blood tests. If you're still feeling unwell I'd phone the Dr after 4 weeks as your symptoms might vary. I know a couple of people who got chest infections on top of it do Dr could help them.

HesterShaw1 · 09/04/2022 15:00

I got better after about five weeks

Hang in there, you'll be ok.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 09/04/2022 15:05

I was due to have surgery last week but it had to be cancelled as I have Covid. Hospital said seven weeks to recover and won’t rebook my surgery until the seven weeks is up. I’m actually three weeks in and improving slowly but nowhere near fit. Still got the cough and breathlessness, but the nausea has gone thankfully although I don’t have much appetite.

MuddlingThroughLife · 09/04/2022 15:08

I'm 4 and half weeks since testing positive. Still coughing and still exhausted all the time. I go to work, come home and have tea and shower then sleep until morning. Still suffering brain fog.

I went to GP this week who has given me antibiotics for my chest as she could hear "crackling" and sent me for a chest xray which was thankfully normal.

Can't cope with this coughing any more it's really getting me down.
