Am I supposed to tell anyone?

I started having what I thought were normal cold like symptoms on the last day of my holiday (skiing) which was Friday, sneezing and snotty nose. Flew home yesterday, feeling a bit more 'coldy' this morning so did one of the LFT's that my daughter brought home from school last week. It's positive.

I've literally been in an airport with hundreds of people, a full 737 home - am I supposed to tell anyone?

Have you flown home to the UK?
What are the rules of the country you were in?

In the UK you don't need to tell anyone.

millytint44 · 03/04/2022 14:11

Yes, France to UK. I am just glad I didn't test in France or I guess I'd have had to stay there!

If you're in England you don't legally have to tell anyone but might be worth checking if your airline has any guidance.

Mariposista · 03/04/2022 14:46

No, you don’t. Don’t worry and get well soon!

Nootkah · 03/04/2022 16:47

If you're in wales you need to record the result of your test. Im surprised you dont have to in England?

JustDanceAddict · 03/04/2022 17:28

No legalities around it in England now.

Starlightstarbright1 · 03/04/2022 17:33

Gov have no interest at all now.. no point reporting as figures are going to slump. You vould register it on gov website to keep figures up

Flyingbymypants · 03/04/2022 17:38

I expect a quarter of the plane were positive.

SpringRainbow · 03/04/2022 17:53

I thought they closed down the LFT reporting website for England now?

You could try and report your LFT though.

OliveTree75 · 03/04/2022 18:16

Will have been other positive people at their airport and on plane. I wouldn’t worry

Catshaveiteasy · 03/04/2022 18:20

You could have been anywhere before realising and so could millions of others given the current rates of infection. There's nothing you should or can do, other than choose to isolate for 10 days unless you test negative two days consecutively prior to that. But you don't HAVE to do that either, though we are asked to in my job.

LFT reporting still advised.

Ridiculous that you are not legally obliged to isolate any more. Leaving aside making someone else ill what it is doing to businesses is horrendous. Where my relative works he was the only one to turn up for work last Tuesday out of 17 staff. They had to close for the rest of the week as he could not deal with all the customers on his own.
