So my daugher had a positive test on January the 29th. Nobody caught it at the time except for her sister. We have since caught it. She has tested negative when we have done asymptomatic testing [ We have all caught it recently] up until today exactly two months since having a positive test. She was complaining of a cold and tickly throat. when I google it, it says it is part of the same infection. However how can it be? She tested negative consistently on and off when we have tested her and now is symptomtic. How can this be the same infection? Wondering if anyone else has caught it again. She is 10 so hasn't been vaccinated. Just wondered others thoughts on this.

She tested negative after 10 days with the original infection.
She has been negative up until today. She is symptomatic.

I would say she has caught it again. It wouldn’t make sense for that to be the same infection as last time when she’s been testing negative. We’ve had a lot of primary children catch it twice within a short period of time.

If she's had consistent negative LFTs in between then it is a new infection. Happened to us too. It's crap Flowers

My brother tested positive today for the 2nd time he last tested positive 88 days ago

Yes. Totally negative tests in-between.
She was complaining of a runny nose and scratchy throat and blow me down did she not test positive.
We have it. I'm at the end of my isolation now.
Thanks so much for replying🙂

I tested positive just after Christmas as did many members of my family (both within and outside my household). I had my 3rd jab mid December but still felt extremely ill with it.

Last week it began circling around other family members that had dodged it last time (outside of my household but I had been in contact) and over the weekend I began to feel symptoms again and tested positive on multiple LFTs. The lines were much fainter than before, and my symptoms much milder. Tbh, if it weren't for these contacts testing positive I probably wouldn't have tested as I've had much worse colds.

It was short lived and I'm already testing negative on LFTs. No complaints other than extreme fatigue. But in answer to your post, yes it was (only just) within the 90 days and is possible!

It's a new infection. A few of my friends' children are getting it for the second time since Christmas - I guess because children tend to have it more mildly so have less of an immune response and fewer antibodies?

That seems logical. Thanks🙂👍

It is a different variant. My DD had it mid Jan (she's 6), confirmed with PCR, totally negative then for weeks until last weekend positive again on PCR. Unwell both times.
