Mild symptoms, anyone else?

Had a scratchy throat on Sunday, negative LF. Did another one yesterday morning and it came up positive. So far I've just got a slight cough and sneezing on and off, slight pressure in my sinuses, otherwise feeling fine. Anyone else have similar and if so did you stay feeling well or go downhill?

It's different for everyone, but like you the worst I got was an itchy throat, occasional cough, nasal congestion or runny nose and that's about it. Some people however, are really struggling and barely able to move out of bed.

I would have been at work much earlier if it wasn't for their rules on not coming if still testing positive. I am currently on day 9.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I've read some of the threads where people are feeling so poorly with it. It seems like a complete lottery. I work in a school and they would prefer me to have 2 negative tests before I go back so I'm hoping that happens quickly as I feel like a fraud right now!

Me too. I feel so guilty being off site while feeling perfectly fine!

GD12 · 29/03/2022 14:46

I'm 7days since + and overall it was fairly mild (not to say everyone's like that though). Had slight fatigue for a few days and a bit of a cough with a slight burn in chest but that went after a day. Had the booster in November so I think lessened symptoms a lot. Feel totally normal now and LFT is almost back to negative.

topdot · 29/03/2022 15:21

That's good to hear @GD12 I had my booster at the beginning of December, felt more rough from that than I currently do!

Same here. A very mild cold so far. I'm definitely well enough to be in work albeit they have asked me to work from home. Same for my DCs.

Hoping I stay like this. You are right it seems to be a lottery, SIL couldn't get out of bed last week.

So strange how it affects us all differently. I've done a lot of sneezing today and my nose has been running a lot, almost like clear waterConfused, still the odd cough, but I've definitely had worse colds. I'm going to do another test tomorrow out of interest. We are definitely the lucky ones.

This is my second time having covid . Last time I felt awful - achy , bad head etc . This time had some cold symptoms but generally felt well enough to carry on and only got really faint positive and negative after 5 days .

Onegingerhead · 30/03/2022 08:19

My case would most likely be classed as quite mild, as all I had was absolute rivers of snots and incredibly teary eyes (could barely open it for two days). Also small cough.
But I didn’t have temp, aches, diarrhoea, tiredness etc…
My work wouldn’t have snotty me tho.

boilingstormyseas · 30/03/2022 08:24

I've had a sore throat, runny nose and feeling a bit tired but now on day 4 just have a slight sniffle.

topdot · 30/03/2022 11:41

My test this morning had such a strong line! What a strange illness.

Similar story here. +ve on Monday after a couple of days of scratchy throat, snotty, and sinus pressure and -ve daily tests. I'm very tired, but other than that it feels like a cold. A bit of a cough, slight discomfort in my chest (but I have asthma, so any cold does the same for me), snotty, and a headache from time to time.

I felt worse when I caught the cold doing the rounds in February when I was convinced that it must finally be covid catching up with me after 2 years, but pcr said not at that stage.

Let's hope this is all we get!

Yes I had a stinking cold in February, felt a million times worse than this, but negative tests. Hope you stay well.

Very similar symptoms to me, it for better as the days went on, not worse but everyone is different! Sinus pain and pressure was my worse symptom, which in turn was causing me hideous headaches. I would work on trying to keep your sinuses as clear as possible (rinses, sprays etc), taking regular painkillers and rest. Hope you feel better soon! I found heat is good for sinus pain! Not shower, bath, wheat bag etc!

Popuptent · 30/03/2022 16:23

I had a thick positive line yesterday but a weaker one today. I'm tired and have a mild cough but that's all. I had a much worse cold at half term. I normally get sinusitis every single time I get a cold but that hasn't happened so far. Fingers crossed!

Alwaystired37 · 30/03/2022 16:26

I was like that for 2 days, then had another 2 days of moderate fatigue. Then I felt better. I think it was only this mild because I vaccinated though, my kids had it much worse. Lots of gastric symptoms from them and the eldest had an asthma flare up.

Popuptent · 30/03/2022 18:02

I've had the 3 jabs and I've been taking Vitamin D for a few months.

Curlygirl06 · 31/03/2022 22:49

Tested positive on Saturday, only tested because we were going to see elderly parents and apparently I'd been coughing in the night. My dh had had covid the week before, so thought it best to check. He had what he thought was a cold, sneezing, bit of a cough but nothing to worry about. He did go to bed at 8 and slept through until 10 the following day.
Me- very slight sore throat that wears off by the afternoon, bit of a runny nose, slight occasional cough; if I'd not tested I'd never have known. I've been doing housework, pegging out washing, tidied loads of cupboards.

topdot · 31/03/2022 23:32

This afternoon I had some sinus pain, took two paracetamol and felt right as rain again, coughing and sneezing has all but disappeared. Surely I'll get a fainter line on a test now? Don't like to waste them as we only have a few left.

sonjadog · 01/04/2022 08:19

I had three days of a mild cold, a couple of days feeling exhausted and then back to normal. I tested positive all the way until day ten though.

Noooo don't say that! Poor you, how frustrating, amazing how long it stays positive without symptoms.

The line is still there this morning, definitely fainter (more faint??) though.

I had one day of the hot and cold flushes, other than that it was a cough for three days. I'm on day 5 now and feel totally fine.
Very mild symptoms here.

I could have written exactly this. I only tested because DH tested positive. Even 90 year old MIL seems fine.

I'm triple jabbed but diabetic so I'm incredibly relieved.
