Travel to Tenerife, covid documents help

Hi all, I have a dilemma and wondered if anyone could offer some advice / had the same problem ( I know it's a first world problem with everything going on at moment, ).

Travelling to Tenerife next week. Requirements are proof of vaccination and/ or covid recovery pass.

My 14 year old had her first vaccine in Nov, then had covid beginning February. At the the time we were told that she couldn't have a pcr as they were only available to the vulnerable at the time, which was fair enough. The problem is she cannot now get a proof of recovery as this is only valid if you've had a pcr !! I have a letter from the doctor, and it says on her nhs app that she was positive on a lateral flow, and negative on a lat flow a week later . We could pay for her to have a pcr, but it can be positive up till 90 days after contracting covid.

My question is will she be allowed in to Tenerife with just the doctor's letter and one dose of the vaccine ? I have spent hours today on the phone and online but cannot find put this info. Surely this must be a common problem now that pcrsbatent readily available? A massive glitch in the system!

Thanks in advance .

The Canary Islands are now taking unvaccinated

The Canary Islands are now taking unvaccinated
When was it updated? Gov website doesn't say this
Samarie123 · 26/03/2022 17:43

I saw it yesterday on Birmingham live
But nothing updated on gov which is strange
I’m sure it’s eased for children

Samarie123 · 26/03/2022 17:46

STEP 1: Children under the age of 12 do not need to take a test, or show evidence of vaccination, to enter the Canary Islands. Those aged 12-17 are able to present a negative PCR test instead of proof of vaccination.

Masks and venue capacity etc are all being lifted but covid entry requirements still apply.

I’m not sure about your case OP, it’s confusing.

I can’t go as my last vaccine was over 270 days ago and they won’t accept a negative test for UK travellers.

Will they accept a proof of recovery though? Selfishly asking for myself

@IEatChocolateForBreakfast yes looking at the link @Samarie123 put above proof of recent recovery is accepted.

Was your last jab a booster? There’s no time limit on boosters currently so you can enter Spain
CeeceeBloomingdale · 26/03/2022 18:30

Rapid antigen (lateral flow) positive can be used to get the letter OP

@CeeceeBloomingdale I haven’t had a booster

hamstersarse · 26/03/2022 18:32

Just been and easyjet vaguely checked it in the UK but I’ve not had booster and 2nd dose was September.
They literally just wanted to see a qr code, no inspection to speak of.

Nothing at all once in Tenerife

Mrsbrand2019 · 26/03/2022 18:38

If you take her for a PCR test now and it’s positive still, that can be her proof she’s had Covid recently unless you go before her isolation ends? If that makes sense?

CeeceeBloomingdale · 26/03/2022 18:50

@BigSandyBalls2015 Ah right, when you said you couldn’t go I thought you meant you aren’t allowed to. Obviously you have the choice to have a booster and go but appreciate that’s another decision.

Watapalava · 27/03/2022 10:27

Op just go and get her second vax done

Covid test results do not show at vax centres
so they will vax her - ds got his second dose 4 weeks after pcr with covid last week

Vax centres can only see date or first vax not second

Another option is to take her for a test before flying - I’d to a lft with chronomics as you only upload a photo of it to get the fit to fly - I wouldn’t chance a pcr in case it picked up an old infection

Watapalava · 27/03/2022 10:28

Second = test results
