Me and Dd are in day 6. Both fine now but bloody tests still positive. She's missing something really important tomorrow and obviously Mother's Day plans on Sunday. I'm probably going to get flamed for asking but how many people are actually waiting til day 10? I'm not planning to go out in crowded places at the weekend but by Monday I just want to get back to life!
Still really scared about everyone else in my family getting it and am dodging my OH and other children and making my poor DD keep away. It's just absolutely miserable! But I'm literally just scared of more isolation and staying at home.

I'm on day 8 and feeling absolutely wretched. Probably because someone didn't say at home when they could have, and passed it. But apparently you can do what I like now.I'll just have to accept I'm going to keep contracting this bloody thing every few months.

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling awful. I have been too and I'm sorry if I sound selfish or inconsiderate. I will be staying at home til the tests are negative. I think I just feel really cross about it and just so we'd what is really going to be different between day 8 when it's absolutely not allowed and day 10 when we're apparently fine. But I appreciate I don't understand the science so will do as I'm told Hope you feel better soon .

Some of my family are still positive. We have been going with going outside but staying 2 m away. Not going indoor or to play parks/busy out order places until day 11 if not negative before then.

Frosty1000 · 25/03/2022 18:33

I too felt really terrible between days 6&9. But I did do a walk to school on day 8 which was enough for me. I'd do whatever I could manage but avoiding crowded places for a day or two.

Re your dd, it's not just how she's feeling that matters, it's everyone else at this thing she's missing. You have to think about how they'd react to her still being positive and mixing.

We're missing mother's day too as hubby is still positive but it's only a day and I'm doing it next weekend.

Hope you get your negatives soon 🙂

I feel awful with it too so much phlegm!
But dc1 is positive and after 1 day off went back in. Because
1 it has 100% come from school and her teacher just had it too.
2 half the class has or had it already
3 symptoms werent really testable and we just did it to.visit relatives so as we arent testi g actual.symptoms in kids (headache/nausea/dizziness etc) there must be si many unknown cases.
4 8 days and we wouldnt be able to test.
5 but the above is probably why we do.have it.
6 if people are going to work etc but also there will be no refunds if you cancel stuff

If it helps our tests turned negative very suddenly on Day 8. So don't write off the weekend yet. As soon as we got negatives we went back to normal. To be honest people aren't testing anymore, but well done following guidance. It will be meaningless in a week's time though when everyone's free LFTs will have been used up.

*Should say Day 7

You're absolutely right and just to clarify I was never suggesting letting her go tomorrow. That's definitely off I just feel really sad for her. Just feeling sorry for myself but I'm not alone I know.

Me and DH both tested positive up to day 10 (and won't do any further testing!) but both felt pretty much fine, we did outside things like walking the dog and made sure we avoided other people! I did have to nip into a supermarket so I went early when it was quiet, wore a mask, didn't loiter and used the self-scan. Basically used my common sense and minimised the risk of passing it on.

Jules912 · 25/03/2022 20:02

I tested positive up to day 10 ( didn't test after that). For the first time I woke up without aching on day 13 today, then I did the school run and back to aching all over😢

Lilaclavenders · 26/03/2022 08:54

I read that people are generally infectious in the two days before testing positive and for a couple of days thereafter.

If you're feeling fine by day 6, chances are that you're no longer infectious.
