Is this "normal" for children with covid?

Hi all, so my ds aged 12 woke up this morning not hungry saying he felt a bit off then by 12noon was being sick, just after he took himself off to bed (which he never does ever!)
He doesn't have a temperature but says he feels nauseous and his throat feels clogged and he feels a bit wobbly, we had some rapid flow tests in a drawer so thought we would do one of them and it has come back positive! And I'm just wondering if I should be worried or has anyone else's child has had the same symptoms?

Vomiting with Covid is really common in children.

Totally normal I think - we had a wave at nursery recently and the only symptom for all the children was vomiting, none of the usual cough type things.

Oh thank you so much for replying really appreciate you commenting I was getting a bit worried as when you Google it, it never comes up with anything useful🙈
Just the usual coughs, sore throat, temperature answers!
Can I ask how long did it take for the vomiting to stop/calm down and for the children to be on the mend?

Yep my 9 year old vomited, a lot!

www.theguardian.com/science/2020/sep/03/diarrhoea-and-vomiting-may-be-key-sign-of-covid-in-children-study

Vomiting lasted a couple of days. Both were unwell for 7-10 days but this was in the first wave with a different variant and the vomiting only started on day 5. Friends have DC with Covid right now and sickness was their main symptom. They were ill for 3 days.

Sorry, just saw your question. Three days for vomiting right stop.

Puddinandpie · 21/03/2022 18:22

OK well I have just been up to take his temperature and he has said that he feels a little bit better now and his throat doesn't feel so clogged! He's been drinking and holding that down for the last hour or so where as earlier this afternoon everything he drank came right back up!
So fingers crossed it won't last to long!

DS's started with vomiting but it didn't last long. His main symptom was a really bad headache.

Puddinandpie · 21/03/2022 18:49

My dd was complaining a couple of days ago about a really bad headache that wouldn't go away, but that's all it was so I just assumed she was dehydrated and made sure she was drinking (as she is a pain when it comes to drinks and she would go all day without a drink unless I nagged at her constantly) I'm thinking now maybe it's all linked!

Morning all, so the update is ds had a relatively vomit free night but didn't sleep that well and he says he feels really dizzy when standing this morning and his head hurts which I did expect so he has been kept watered and bedridden for now the only thing that has puzzled me is that he now has a block red almost rash on his cheeks and chin! He looks like a tomato it's so red I've tried googling but again nothing really is coming up! Can anyone enlighten me if they have experienced the same with there children when they were poorly?
