Post COVID fatigue - best recovery?

I'm only ten days post covid so I know it's early days yet; today i drove in to town and pottered about for half an hour and I felt DREADFUL, so sick and exhausted. I know this is common post covid. For reference I am very overweight (obese in fact) but reasonably fit and would normally do daily exercise, cycle for transport etc. so this is a shock.

Is there any study or anything suggesting if it's best to just keep pushing myself to do increasing abouts of exercise or if u should rest for a few weeks or what?

It’s hard but the advice seems to be to rest, rest, rest! I don’t have a particular study but it’s not something you can ‘push through’ like you normally would. 10 days is still very early on too. I’ve taken nearly a month to feel mostly better and in 2020 more like three months. Hope you are much better very soon!

Thanks for the reply! That's fine; I will happily rest if that's the best thing to do - I'm quite lazy and will relish not exercising guilt-free! Just wanted to know what's best because I know I loose fitness quite fast and suspect that in a couple of weeks I will have to start from the beginning which will be tough but fine if that's the best way. I need to have recovered by the time the Easter hols starts so I can entertain the little ones.

A couple of my colleagues have Long Covid and the advice seems to be to rest as much as you can for as long as you can. Pushing yourself to get back to normal too quickly can make it take longer it seems.

Do what you can when you can and rest, properly, when you must. Be aware of how you are feeling so you don't push on through fatigue, but do try to move your body to some degree. Even if you just do some stretches every day. Hope you feel better soon. I found the fatigue came and went for about a month. I'd think I was fine and then all of a sudden be exhausted for no reason.

I found that electrolyte supplements made quite a big improvement so you could try taking them in the morning?
