Hi! Advice and experience greatly appreciated. I’m n my fifth week of having had Covid and am still having some symptoms. I don’t want to unnecessarily bother my GO except should I be?

Exhaustion (can’t keep awake some days)
Headaches
Postnasal drip especially at night so I wake up coughing
Diarrhoea

What would you do? LFT is negative

Yes i think you should see the GP although sadly i don't think they can offer you anything much. Having had long covid since March 2020 I can tell you that the provision is basically nothing except blood tests and a chest x ray. But you may have a good GP who at the least will offer blood tests immediately which is something to start with.

Advice = REST. What you are describing is pretty normal with long covid / after a bad virus. I know that doesn't help much but accepting it and going with it for now is the best thing you can do. Fighting it / pushing through seems to lead to worse symptoms. From what I am reading most people seem to be less worse off with long covid caused from Omicron and post vaccines so hopefully this will be a matter of weeks not months for you. Let your body heal.

Thank you @popsickle555. I was wondering that. I hope you are doing much better. I’ve been using an expectorant which has made my chest feel less congested but not sure about long term. I attempted a run but can’t even manage two minutes!

@mamakoukla definitely no running!! Honestly pacing and build up slowly. I am much better now after 2 years thank you but i still can't run (was a runner before) but I can do everything else pretty much now. It took a long time but I am hopeful it will not be like that for you.

@popsickle555 glad to hear you have made progress. I hear you about taking it easier; I was testing boundaries to see where things were at.
