What are my chances of getting covid?

I am fully vaccinated. I was around someone last week who had a mild cold who eventually showed a positive on a home antigen test. This person is still somewhat mild but is coughing. I suspect her exposure was last Monday and she is also fully vaccinated.

I have an underlying condition that causes gut inflammation/infection in the gut so I am anxious that maybe my belly might be hit hard with a viral infection if I was to contract covid. I suppose it was last Thursday/Friday when this person had a mild cold. We shared the same room together for a while.

I suspect you'd have it by now if you were exposed thursday/Friday. I have it at the moment... Symptoms started sat night. Almost certainly from exposure weds or Thurs as barely saw anyone before that

I am not even able to tolerate a cold so I do a lot of things when I experience a cold to make sure it's not a deep cold like

  • paracetamol, if my throat is dry/sore I like children's calpol
  • vitamin c and zinc
  • garlic and ginger
  • plenty of fluids

I am increasing vitamin c and garlic and ginger over this week and I hope I don't get it.

Vitamin D is good too.

It's impossible to say if you'll get it or not . Many people have shared beds and houses with covid positive relatives and not caught it. Eat healthily and keep your fingers crossed.

The person in question had an exposure on Monday and came down with light cold symptoms by Wednesday/Thursday. She was testing on the antigen tests but they were negative. I mixed in her home on Friday but I didn't really share a room with her and she wasn't coughing then. She eventually had a faint positive over the weekend. We think she had the infection from Wednesday/Thursday but it was mild.

Thinking back to last week, I fi was exposed it would definitely be on Friday.

It wouldn't be any harm if I was to get covid at this stage. The last week I had off from work was back in 2019. I need an isolation holiday in my room.
