Who is Covid positive and leaving house?

DH and I both positive. He feels rough I feel like I’ve got a cold. DS3 not tested but fine and hyper. Out of interest, who is leaving the house still even though positive? I know legally it’s ok, But want to take DS for some fresh air. I wondered who else was doing the same?

Positive and stayed at home the full 10 days, but I’ve been really ill so not up for leaving anyway. So arguably not a fair test.

PatchworkElmer · 13/03/2022 17:09

Positive here (day 7). Been too unwell to go out until today, but walked about a mile this afternoon. Saw 2 people and kept our distance.

@KatyRebecca84

Perfectly reasonable to want to know what other people are thinking/doing. Pretty much the point of MN!!

I'm CEV & getting worried about the increase in cases. Some people are being incredibly irresponsible and (yes THAT word again) selfish. So my risk is increasing a lot & it's scary.

But you taking DS for a run around or a kick about on the field wouldn't bother me at all, I think it's better to stay off play areas/equipment etc. but running about a field, no problem. Hope he stays free if it and you & DH are better soon.

It is scary that people aren’t going to be testing and are just going to be carrying on as normal. I’ve just recovered from Covid which my husband brought home from work. I’m CEV due to autoimmune drugs and have had 4 jabs and the antibody treatment. It was still extremely unpleasant and it’s taken 3 weeks to get 80% well. I think if you know you have it it’s appalling to go near other people, especially for leisure.

OP, you responded to me so I replied. Not sure that's repeating myself? And I wasn't the only one who genuinely didn't get why you would care about what people you don't even know would think about something like this.

MissSmiley · 13/03/2022 17:29

I'm in hospital at the moment following a major operation, people still have to LFT before they visit and can't come if they have a positive case in the household, Covid certainly isn't over in hospitals

coloradoqueen · 13/03/2022 17:30

Me. I'm not seeing anyone indoors but I'm going for a walk every day.

LightingCandles · 13/03/2022 17:46

Yes. I am. I tested positive Tuesday am. Bossnsaodntonwear a mask and come in. I didn't. But I did go in Thursday onward.

Watapalava · 13/03/2022 17:58

I have colleagues now who are in work with covid

Really doesn’t bother me

No one I know socially would admit to having covid now as all happy to get on with it. My dd went to sleepover yesterday at house with covid - she’s double vax and had covid twice with no issue

TypicaIMe · 13/03/2022 18:46

I tested positive yesterday, DH and DD are positive too. We have nobody to go to shops or anything for us and I'm almost out of my painkillers so one of us will have to go out in a few days' time, probably DD as she tested positive first (on Tuesday) and her tests are getting less positive daily.

I'm waiting for antivirals to be delivered and I've been told you can test negative really quickly after starting them, let's hope so. At the moment I feel too vile to go anywhere even if I wanted to!

BogRollBOGOF · 13/03/2022 18:48

DS has been out for country walks, bike rides and in empty playgrounds this week. Today's been his first day of "freedom" and he's been well enough to run 2k and go swimming.

At Christmas I went out for late night walks to minimise the chance of crossing paths with people. I wasn't ill enough to cope with being trapped in for a week.

yeswell · 13/03/2022 18:52

I haven't done any Covid tests.

If I were to feel too ill to go out, I wouldn't go out (though wouldn't need to do a Covid test to tell me this, as it's common sense). Otherwise, I would go out. Same as I have always done.

Kage30 · 13/03/2022 19:20

I would absolutely go out for walks in quiet areas. Fresh air is good and the risk to others is minimal!

We all had covid in December. We all isolated as per guidelines. It was a real tough time as dc have sen. I wound absolutely take them out for walks, for a run about etc if we had it again!

2boysand1princess · 13/03/2022 19:49

I personally would take my DC for a walk away from people if they were feeling well. I wouldn’t send them to school and I also wouldn’t walk where there were other people about.

Zolla · 13/03/2022 22:41

We’ve taken DD for walks this week. Thank god I haven’t had to keep a 4 year & 2 year old in the house for 10 days.. I’m grateful they’ve waited until now to catch it 🙈 we’ve gone to quiet woods & fields during school hours and just kept our distance from the very few other people we’ve seen!

MountainDweller · 13/03/2022 23:00

Isolation still obligatory here. Before knew he had it (at that stage he only had a little sore throat) DH drove me to a medical treatment that I couldn't drive after (Friday) and to pick up meds from the vet and a few things from the supermarket (Saturday, still wasn't up to driving). He didn't get out of the car. He did the test today and it's positive - he has cold-like symptoms. He won't be going on a much-anticipated work trip this week. I probably have it too (headache, nausea, shakes, fever, though these could be from my treatment). I have reluctantly left msg cancelling my osteopath appointment on Tuesday because I know she is super careful and prefers people not to come if it's in their house. Debating, depending how I feel, nipping to chemist tomorrow (with a mask on) for prescription before I do a test... so I still won't know at that point! Other than that if I don't feel too shit will get some fresh air in my garden but warn neighbours not to get too close!
