DH has covid - what should we do in terms of isolation?

I know he doesn't have to isolate anymore, but as he can WFH he obviously will do. But for how long? Is it the full ten days?

DS and I will LFT daily, but can he still go to nursery if he doesn't have symptoms or come up positive? And how long before we can say with confidence we're clear of it? Keen to avoid putting anyone else at risk whilst also feeling a bit sick at the thought of being stuck in the house with two under threes and no garden!

Advice gratefully received!

Ten days or until he has two negatives after day 5.

Bumping and following this too - we're in exactly the same situation. DH tested negative yesterday (wasn't even ill, only checked because we were going to the cinema), but has a cough and is positive today.

Me and 2 DC are negative. We've shut DH away but I've got two forlorn kids and I'm not keen to risk anything by taking them out but the rules seem to be we can go anywhere!

Yes you and your son can carry on as normal unless one of you tests positive.

Your sons nursery should have a policy on Covid. In the case of a positive test for your son, most schools and nurseries are asking children to isolate and then for negative lateral flow tests on day 5 and 6.

Thank you! Does that mean it's OK to send him to nursery as long as he doesn't test positive?

@LIZS

Ten days or until he has two negatives after day 5.
^ this, so you can end isolation on day 7 if clear tests on day 5&6. You should also inform the nursery

Guidance is in the pic attached: you don’t legally HAVE to do this, but if you are interested in doing the right thing when there are record cases & increasing numbers in hospital, this is the guidance
