Would you go for a walk?

Very mild symptoms, DC's in the pram so they can't touch anything, avoiding any contact with other people and not touching anything while out?

I've been told it's selfish.

Thanks all, we went out to some fields and didn't see anyone else.

@Duracellbunnywannabe

I would treat it like chicken pox. Outside and away from people is fine.
This.

People are still testing!?

Katie517 · 10/03/2022 20:10

I would have done it even before the law changed. It’s about common sense if you come into contact with no one there is no risk! Fresh air and light exercise from walking will be the best thing for you. Ignore people saying it’s selfish they are desperately clinging onto the virtue signaling that they got such a thrill out of the last 2 years!

My DM is very vulnerable, I test before I see her.

And you can guarantee you won't come into contact with anyone can you?

You can guarantee that you won't meet someone on the same route, get hit by a car and need an ambulance etc. Glad your mystic Meg ball works so well.

Hullabaloo31 · 11/03/2022 16:14

My 6yo has it and I've taken her round the block yesterday and today for some fresh air. We live in a small village, don't go out at school kick out time, easy to avoid anyone for the 15 mins we were out. Did her the world of good.

Glad to see there's still people keeping that '2020' vibe alive

GeneLovesJezebel · 11/03/2022 16:48

Yep.

sleepwouldbenice · 11/03/2022 17:04

Yes I would but avoid people in terms of timing and location

Glad to see some are keeping their covid minimising vibe and oh my god why would you test as I won't crap

Watapalava · 11/03/2022 18:06

3 people came into our office with covid today - no one cared. Cant believe you are asking about a walk!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 11/03/2022 18:11

@ChoiceMummy no one cares any more. Get a grip.

a12356777 · 11/03/2022 18:36

If I had mild symptoms like the cold that it is for the majority of people , I would be going where ever I wanted tbh.

HardyBuckette · 11/03/2022 19:36

Course. Exercise and fresh air are important, infinitely more so than guarding against the possibility of whatever far fetched series of events anyone calling you selfish has come up with.

Verity226 · 11/03/2022 22:00

I'm glad you went out for a walk OP.

The risk of passing it on when walking down the street is exceptionally low unless you're breathing in somebody's face.

I have it at the moment and whilst I'm not well enough to go for a walk at the minute, I absolutely will be doing, somewhere quiet, once I'm able to.

Onlythelaundryfairy · 11/03/2022 22:05

No.
No I wouldn't, regardless of the temptation

Postcovid · 11/03/2022 22:19

Absolutely. I did when I had covid recently - didn’t go to any shops or anything but went on walks when I fancied it and didn’t feel too ill.

I’d advise against a run though Confused pretty sure that set me back massively!

Flapjacker48 · 11/03/2022 22:35

@ChoiceMummy Oh stop it with the "what if you were hit by a car" crap as if it is spring 2020. You do realise that many people who are admitted to hospital for wide range of stuff are found to have covid asymptomatically?

sleepwouldbenice · 12/03/2022 01:08
@ChoiceMummy no one cares any more. Get a grip.
Utter crap

sleepwouldbenice · 12/03/2022 01:10

As usual OP the middle ground is about right. Do what you can to protect others by staying away and avoiding peak time, but enjoy the fresh air/ rain
