All week I've had a temperature and last night a soaking nightsweats.
My booster jab was in November and I've read online that effectiveness declines after 10 weeks.
Is my temperature a good thing or not.
I look dreadful .I don't have any breathing difficulties just an annoying cough.
I'm mid 50s and normally fit.
I'm day 4 for context.

I’ve had same, day 7/8 here. My booster was 14 weeks ago so I’d say definitely less effective now

I’m not worried : it’s similar to a flu for me (so not ‘just a little cold’) but I’m not concerned about getting worse. Am v slowly getting better but v tired & according to friends who’ve had Covid recently this is all normal

To answer your question: it’s just your body fighting the illness which is obviously good, but not getting it in the first place would have been better

Thank you despairinghomeowner no one I know has had it,well my colleagues at Xmas one asymptomatic and one was ill day 11 on his return to work.
Yes it's been more like flu for me I guess working 60 hr weeks made me more vulnerable and run down.Sorry you re suffering too.

I got it in December a month after my booster and I had been very careful indeed in the lead up to Christmas. No temperature but horrific night sweats, body aches, palpitations, fatigue suddenly appearing from nowhere. Lasted 10 days and the fatigue episodes for a good 4 weeks after that. I am in my early 50s, fit, and was not run down. Hope you feel better soon. Rest as much as you can/need. I don't think the severity of your symptoms necessarily indicate a "better" response, just a strong one.
