A tummy ache, when others in the class have covid?

It is not a symptom of course and I am not an enthusiastic tester by any means but I don't want to be judged by others.

No.

WeirdlyKind · 08/03/2022 19:32

How old is the child?

Probably not a toddler/young child but I might an older one.

Ijustneedtosleep21 · 08/03/2022 19:39

No but then I'm not testing my toddler when the rest of us are positive as it's horrendous for her.

Sanch1 · 08/03/2022 19:43

No my kids often have 'tummy ache' they usually either need a poo or don't want to go to school!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 08/03/2022 19:43

I'm no longer testing at all and I'm not bothered who judges. Haven't tested DS even if his classmates have Covid.

LyricalBlowToTheJaw · 08/03/2022 20:00

Nah.

DogforPM · 08/03/2022 20:01

Yes, my DS had tummy ache then threw up, tested and he was positive.

TheFormidableMrsC · 08/03/2022 20:05

Our primary have asked for children to be tested if they have stomach symptoms. There are two off right now who were found to be Covid positive. It is a symptom so yes I would.

Fullofpudding · 08/03/2022 20:06

Yes all the children at my school recently have had tummy issues and then become positive.

Jules912 · 08/03/2022 20:10

Yes, if they seemed otherwise unwell. This was DDs first symptom (although she had already tested positive as school asked us to test due to her teacher having it). If I'd waited for one of the official symptoms we wouldn't have tested until 3 days later.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 08/03/2022 20:16

My dc all started with stomach aches when they had it.

Birkenshock · 08/03/2022 20:25

No, I'm not testing my toddler anymore. She's got general mild cough/cold symptoms, but isn't unwell in herself, the sort of "dose them up with calpol to perk them up a bit and give them an early night" sort of grottyness that most toddlers get Nov-April. So now it's not a requirement to isolate, if she tested positive, I wouldn't isolate her, I'd still carry on sending her in. In which case, I don't really need to know if she has it or not, as it won't change my course of action 🤷🏻‍♀️

Savvysix1984 · 08/03/2022 20:26

Most children I know who had covid started with a sore tummy or headache

Overtheroadroundthecorner · 08/03/2022 20:27

No, I’ve never tested my children (toddler and baby).

coffeeiwish · 08/03/2022 20:28

Yes, this was the only symptom 2/3 of my kids had

WillowySnicket · 08/03/2022 20:35

No but....when we had covid, the whole family started with a sore stomach that then escalated into a vomit. So it isn't out of the realms...

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 08/03/2022 20:40

Yea I would

ComeUnderMySexBlanket · 08/03/2022 20:41

No

actiongirl1978 · 08/03/2022 20:41

No way

Getoutofbed25 · 08/03/2022 20:46

Yes many of the children testing positive have sore stomachs and feeling sick a day or so before testing positive at the moment

BeenToldComputerSaysNo · 08/03/2022 21:11

I would.

Same here. No more testing in our house. Have tested 10 yr old DS once through this whole thing and that was only to get him on a school residential. And we're in wales too!

I can't work out who in their right mind would test a primary school
Child. DS has one +ve in class now. Advised to LFT daily. I snorted. Yeah right. Nope.
