4 yr old Gs stayed with us overnight on Friday. I took him to the park Saturday morning but he didn’t want to stay long as he was cold. He drooped around the house until I took him still saying he was cold, dd took him to visit her in-laws took his temperature which was 38.7. She tested him and very rapidly lft was positive.

He has got all through the last two years without catching Covid and none of us have had it but although we have all been vaccinated I am sure he will be generous and pass it on.

@BluebellsGreenbells

According to worldometre 20 million have had Covid out of what 80 million people?

That’s loads who have yet to get it. Hardly news worthy.

Pretty sure stuff hasn't got to be "newsworthy" to be put on here. Hmm
Notmenotme · 06/03/2022 18:33

God people on here need to get a massive grip.

3/4 in my house seem to have covid and nobody we saw just before caught it from us (that we know of!)

So you may be fine.

If not consider it a top up of antibodies!!!

Wow I think you are getting a very hard time here and I think some posters are being ridiculous! Nowhere does your post suggest you don't love and care for your GS and blame him in any way, it just comes over to me as you are just saying after 2 years of him nor catching it it's sods law that the one time he does he's stayed with you.

Hope he's ok and you are too.

This in spades.

This! I don't know why some PPs are critical. I can't even understand what they see to criticise.

‘I’m sure he’ll be generous and pass it on’

It may be this sentence people have an issue with?

Look Covid is now going to be endemic. Most people will get it. Some won’t. Probably better now whilst you may still have a bit of protection from your booster.

We really need to start changing our thinking and language around Covid now.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 06/03/2022 21:07

My ds slept in same bed as me didn't pass it on nor did he pass it on to his unvaccinated DF or siblings, all you can do is test regular and perhaps limit your visits to anyone vulnerable and wear a mask when indoors in a busy area for the time being. I hope your GS is OK, my 7yo coughed for one day then was back bouncing round the house as normal

Scottishgirl85 · 06/03/2022 21:10

Seriously everyone, absolutely everyone, will catch covid at some point. And will then catch it again and again in their lifetime. My whole family have it now and we've had worse colds. It is dangerous for a small minority, just like many other illnesses are. I think we need to stop fearing covid and treating it so differently from other illnesses.

TricksAnd · 06/03/2022 23:11

Wow, I didn't read the OPs posts as saying anything bad about the grandson. I knew exactly what she meant when she said he dropped around. It just means he was listless, she was just saying he was ill.

OP, know one knows of you will catch it or not. My DH and I caught it from a brief exposure whereas, another time, I didn't catch it from one of my adult kids despite spending a long weekend with her in close contact.

Madmog · 07/03/2022 07:35

Hope you and your whole family are ok, OP. I understand you're probably concerned about the implications for yourself, which is natural as none of us know our risk factors.

I suspect in-laws might be a bit annoyed if they catch it though, knowing he wasn't quite right when he went there

Userno36372846 · 07/03/2022 17:04

You don't sound very sympathetic towards your grandson. There's always a chance they become ill in your care covid or not and you might catch it but might not even catch it anyway. Depends.
