Is vomiting a symptom of my covid? Also with blood In

I’m 8 weeks pregnant and I’m covid positive and I’m unsure if this vomiting is morning sickness or from covid as it’s fairly extreme for morning sickness. I vomited repeatedly yesterday after drinking fruit juice, I woke up this morning had a cuppa and vomited that back up but it just kept coming and it seamed like I was emptying the bottom of my stomach and it had at this point changed colour and was burning as it came out, then I seen some with red mucus in.
Should I worry? I can’t ring my drs as you have to ring before 10am if you want a same day appointment. I feel ok ish now sat in bed sipping water. Is vomiting part of covid? Will it last long?

If you're bringing up blood you should see a doctor and not rely on MN for advice.

As someone who suffers with HG having blood in your sick is a hospital job. If you call 111 they will advise but they will most probably send you in for fluids and antisickness meds. Please call and don’t leave it.

I am 5 weeks pregnant and had awful sickness at 3/4 weeks when I was covid positive. Managed to hold of fluids in hospital until I was testing negative. I have never been this sick so early on so I really do think covid affect me on the sickness front.

Hi @Nikki037297, your symptoms need medical attention, whether they're caused by COVID or not.

I'd give 111 or your midwife a call, they will probably want to admit you Flowers

I would also go easy on something like fruit juice right now (guessing you probably don't fancy it anymore!) as is very harsh on the tummy.

I did have vomiting when I had COVID at 9 weeks pregnant. No blood though, that would concern me! I was advised by the midwife to get anti sickness tablets from the doctor which were a god send. She also said COVID can make morning sickness worse. I’d ring your midwife/the midwife advice number x

I've currently got covid at almost 18 weeks pregnant.
Do you have a midwife you can contact yet?
My midwife has checked in on me by phone. I've been sick and she asked if I have had any bloody vomit (which I hadn't, I think mine was from the sheer volume of snot and blocked nose).

They didn't seem too concerned as long as I hadn't had trouble breathing, and was not too confused to know who I was.
I agree with @Waddlegoose I think bloody vomit is a hospital job, Covid or not.

Ok thanks everyone I will give 111 a call and see where I’m at with it. Family are not keen on watching my toddler as he also has covid

Personally, having experienced hg (hyperemesis) many times, I would say that it's more likely to be that. There were points where I could literally not even keep a drop of water down. And once there's nothing in the stomach, them yes it will chamge colour and burn as you are literally bringing up pure stomach acid.

While you should always get any blood in vomit checked out the fact that it's red is good. All that acid is damaged your throat lining, I would regularly see blood in my vomit (when I looked), but after getting checked the first time didn't worry about it because I knew it was the damage done by throwing up 100s times a day.
You may also find that you burst lots of small blood vessels in and around the eyes.

What I will say though is that if you go more than 24hrs without being able to keep anything down then please seek immediate help. By that point you would be starting to go in to ketosis and that can be dangerous. In my case it lead to jaundice and drifting in and out of consciousness (baby was absolutely fine it was just me that was ill) that needed saline drips being literally pushed through me.
In my last 2 pregnancies I actually bought keto test sticks (fairly cheap on amazon) so I could keep an eye on my ketone levels and if it ever went above ++ then I'd go to hospital

I had vomiting with Covid for a few hours. I had Hyperemesis and pregnant too and it sounds more like that to me but you should defs get checked out!
