Does it mean double vaccinated or do you need to have been boosted as well? For travel out of the UK and re entry.

Depends where - gov.uk has the answers

dementedpixie · 24/02/2022 12:52

Depends where you are going and how long ago you had your 2nd vaccine

Cookerhood · 24/02/2022 12:53

You need to look at the rules for where you are travelling to & then the rules for coming back to the UK. They aren't necessarily the same thing.

walkingoneggshell · 24/02/2022 13:02

Do you need booster for re entry?

Have you checked the government website? Thigs changed all the time.

Newgirls · 24/02/2022 15:33

Spain etc it’s triple for most

Kids under 16 it’s double I believe

But each country has specific rules so check on their travel sites

Cookerhood · 24/02/2022 15:33

Here

I googled "Entry requirements UK Covid"

walkingoneggshell · 24/02/2022 17:31

Thanks for that. It looks like you currently don’t need a booster to count as fully vaccinated.

Fully vax is double doses or single dose of johnson and Johnson

Some countries need booster after 4-7 months from second dose (countries vary)

Unvax Kids can now get tests rather than have to be double vax for many places (was vax only last month but eg Spain has relaxed as has France)

Booklover3 · 24/02/2022 18:22

Anyone know about Turkey? It literally just states fully vaccinated

Watapalava · 24/02/2022 18:50

Fully vax is two vaccines always has been

Boosters are al aye mentioned separately

PickleSarnie · 25/02/2022 08:03

As others have said it depends on the country. My unvaccinated colleague is on holiday abroad now. Not in Europe though.

France needs a booster if your second jab was 9 months ago or something like that. But there is no one answer without knowing what country.

Newgirls · 25/02/2022 08:12

I think best just get the boosters? Its been a while since many of us got the second so before you sit on a plane and queue in an airport why not err on side of extra protection

PAFMO · 25/02/2022 08:15

Depends on the country, you need to read both the UK's rules and the other country's.
Sounds daft I know, but there's a lot of "as we understand it" on the gov UK website and in a travel group on FB that I belong to there's been a lot of confusion as the "other" country has clarified in much more detail than the UK gov site and people were getting caught out. Mainly with vaccines/ validity/EU passes/teenagers etc.

Watapalava · 25/02/2022 17:22

For Eu there are rules for entry and different (more strict) rules for accessing hotels, restaurants etc

So a test tier set of rules

The rules when in a country are less clear on the gov websites for some

Tho double vac and boostered means you’d be fine no matter what normally

Parpophone · 26/02/2022 10:08

"Abroad" is a big place!

Different countries have different rules.

Thanks for that. It looks like you currently don’t need a booster to count as fully vaccinated.

Well that all depends on where you are going and how long ago your second dose was.

As @Watapalava has pointed out, the requirements for entering a country are not necessarily the same as the requirements to access some public places once you are there.
