Is the ending of the self-isolation requirement on Thursday applied retrospectively?

Does anyone know?

DD has tested positive and has been told that she is legally required to self isolate until Saturday at the earliest and Thursday next week at the latest depending upon her lateral flow tests to be taken from day 5.

Does the announcement today override that or is it only for new covid positive cases from Thursday onwards? And if it does, should I really be sending her to school on day 4 after testing positive for covid??

It might specify in this living with Covid plan the government have published today www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-living-with-covid-19

From the news articles I have read, it is no longer a legal requirement to isolate after Thursday, but it is still advised that you do until 1st April. So I don’t think she would have to remain isolating

I guess schools may still ask them to stay off until they are testing negative until 1st April?

Thank you! I was looking for the official guidance, but I could not find it! It doesn't explicitly say about the retrospectiveness, but it does say:

"Adults and children who test positive will continue to be advised to stay at
home and avoid contact with other people. After 5 days, they may choose to
take a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) followed by another the next day - if both
are negative, and they do not have a temperature, they can safely return to
their normal routine"

I'm assuming that the school would ask for this advice to be followed, which is absolutely fine with me. I didn't really want to send her in on day 4!
