Still testing positive, will this trigger new isolation

Hi
Came out of isolation on the 10th of Feb. I am still testing positive on LFT. If I log these on gov site will it trigger a new isolation?

Yes. Have you completed 10 days?

Starlight21 · 13/02/2022 11:23

Yes. Pcr on 31st jan positive, LFT positive since. Isolation finished Thursday so was expected back to work. Lft I did this morning is positive ( have to do twice a week due to job) so if I log will it trigger app to say 10 days isolation again as 3 days since it ended

I'm still positive on day 11, so one of my work places won't let me return regardless of what day I'm on!

I'll have to go back into my other job tomorrow regardless and I'm meant to test, I will be but I'll be forgetting to log my resultsWink.

Kshhuxnxk · 14/02/2022 11:12

I wouldn't log it. You can test positive for I think 90 days?

Mindymomo · 14/02/2022 11:18

Unless you have new symptoms you are free to leave isolation after 10 days no matter what LFT says, as covid can stay in the system for up to 90 days.

Sidge · 14/02/2022 11:44

If you’ve done your ten days isolation you can stop testing and go back to normal - unless you have new symptoms.

Stop doing LFTs

Blubells · 14/02/2022 11:46

Why are you still doing LTFs and why would you log it?

You had Covid and have recovered. People are generally infectious in the 2 days before and after symptoms begin.

whataballbag · 14/02/2022 18:23

Yes if you log it you will need to isolate again.

DS1 was admitted to hospital the day after he came out of isolation. He hadn't been anywhere so impossible to get a new infection and he was swabbed within 5 minutes of arriving at a&e.

Common sense would say he hadn't caught a new infection on the walk from the car park to the private room they put him in, however test and trace said he had to start a new isolation Hmm

DistrictCommissioner · 14/02/2022 18:28

Don’t log it. A friend came out of isolation after 10 days, and did another LFT a week later which was also positive. She logged it and had to isolate for another round.

JanglyBeads · 14/02/2022 18:46

Sorry but this IS likely to be a new infection. It's only PCRs that can pick up traces of Covid for 90 days.

Rubbish. The OP tested positive 14 days ago. It’s quite common for a LFT to still be positive at this stage and virtually unheard of to be a new infection within a fortnight.
Starlight21 · 14/02/2022 20:02

I called 119 and they said unless got new symptoms or a temperature it is most likely NOT a new infection. Wouldnt be eligible for a PCR as is within 90 days of the positive PCR .

I have to do twice weekly LFT due to my job. Told them today and they said would most likely not be a new infection as I am not the only one whom this has happened to.

Ok, I think I'd misread the dates or something, the gap from first infection is tiny so I was wrong earlier.

No need for rudeness though, @TheSnowyOwl ?

Your capital letters to correct people also came across as rude.

I'm sorry, was only emphasising "is", wicker than the asterisks Smile
