Severely immunocompromised/immunosuppressed - let’s talk

This isn’t a thread about government policy or law or politics, just a place to talk about how you’re doing. No judgement for how you do it or what you do. If you’re back to normal, that’s ok. If you’re still shielding, that’s ok. If you’re in the middle, that’s ok.

I’ll kick off by saying I’m back to doing most of my usual stuff but seem to get knocked back by constant health stuff and it’s tough. I finally have had my 4th vaccine after being delayed due to other stuff.
I feel I’m picking up more bugs and germs than usual.

I was severely immunocompromised (due to chemotherapy), but as that was a year ago now, I’m not severely immunocompromised anymore. Or shouldn’t be. That said I did qualify for the third primary dose and the priority PCR test due to having the first two vaccines within six months of chemo.

I’m kind of shielding still I guess. Not the original don’t-go-outside shielding, but I’ve not been on public transport yet, nor inside anyone else’s house, nor to anywhere crowded at all. Not even to my hairdresser but that’s more to do with not having enough hair yet than anything else.

I probably shouldn’t be as careful as I am being, but it’s difficult to stop it after two years of it.

I was severely immunocompromised when I had my first two doses. I had just finished cancer treatment and have auto immune disease.
I am somewhat immunocompromised now but not severely.

I had covid 4 months after my second dose and was pretty ill - hospitalised but not ICU.
I had my 3rd dose in October and booked for my booster next week.
I'm not shielding, just take the same precautions other people my age might.
I am retired so work and small children aren't an issue. I haven't been on public transport but I never did anyway. I do go out occasionally to a pub or restaurant. The only thing I haven't done yet is holiday abroad. I'm hoping to do that this year.

I’ve been avoiding public transport although I have been on the train a few times but I’ve always hated the tube and buses, so it’s no loss. Grin ive been to the theatre a few times but not in recent months. I think I’d like to see cases drop a bit more as spring approaches before I go back to that.

Not me but DH. He's still very cautious. Was happier last summer but omicron made him nervous again. He still wears a mask when out. He had a SCT in September 2020.

Having said that DS2 currently has covid!
