New high temperature 1 week after end of isolation

So I finished my isolation after a positive PCR last Monday. I had a high temp for most of my isolation but it did go down to normal so I came out of isolation. Now I have woken up with an elevated temperature again. Do I need a new PCR and to isolate again until I get the results. I'm not sure since it's so close to my last one. Thanks in advance for your wisdom

Did you use negative LFTs to come out of isolation? Last Monday is less than ten days so I would probably take LFTs and count up to ten days then stop isolating but not bother with a PCR.

Have you done an LFT since testing positive, such as the Ines in day 5 and 6 to see if you could be 'released' early? Were they negative?

Have you done one following this new symptom?

I was still a positive LFT at the end of isolation, did tests on days 5-9 and all positive (albeit getting fainter) so did the full 10 days isolating

I was under the impression not to do LFT afterwards for a period of time as the risk of a false positive is high? Maybe that's wrong though

LFTs are less likely to give a false positive than a PCR at this point as they detect antigen rather than RNA fragments.

Ah ok, interesting. I shall do a LFT because why not eh. I've booked a PCR for this morning. May the best test win Hmm

My dd had this and she had tonsillitis. Any virus can take it out of your body and make you more vulnerable to other infections

LFT ]s are far less likely to give ongoing positive results, once no longer infectious, due to how they work. It's more likely with PCRs, although even then, it's only a fairly small number of people who, will continue testing positive with them and it tapers down the more delays/weeks that pass. I've known a number of people do a PCR on day 14 and it be negative - all done for travel purposes.

My.LFT was negative. My.PCR just came back as unable.to read, please do another one. Ugh

There is no point at all in doing more pcr tests. You can test positive for up to 90 days.

Yeah I'd just assume a different virus tbh. Hope you feel better soon.
