Everyone in household has covid except one child. Keep them home from school tomorrow?

3 of 4 dc in household + I have covid at the moment. 2 dc tested positive early last week and now getting steadily feinter lines on LFTs.
1dc and I got positive results this weekend.
1dc got PCR negative this weekend and no symptoms (got her and me PCR tested as was going to test symptomatic dc at same time, and I come back positive despite no symptoms and negative LFT same day).

I am assuming that the last dc is likely to get it this week at some point, though perhaps not necessarily, who knows.

In theory I could drop her outside school gates without getting out of the car myself, if she has a negative LFT tomorrow. But I don't know if I should keep her off in expectation of her getting it?
Or even if I should just not go out in the car myself, even if I'm not getting out?

The 2 who got it last week are likely to be fit to return mid this week I reckon, but again, the only way they can get there is if I drive them.
They really want to go back because there's a special activity they both don't want to miss.

There is no other adult in the house. Argh.

I'd send her in... Covid isn't some rare condition that her class will avoid if
only you didn't send her in. It will pass through her class... It's a matter of when, not if. You're not "stopping" anyone from getting Covid by not sending her, just "delaying" it possibly.

And this is why it’s rife. Let’s hope you never find yourself in a vulnerable position healthwise

It's rife because it's incredibly infectious. I can't believe that people still think that we can stop omicron if only we were a bit more careful and followed all the rules. We're way past that.[/quote]
Oh I’m aware it’s never going to stop, however people need to be aware that they are causing problems by following ‘guidance’. Believe me teachers do not want children to attend if they are from a covid positive household, they are just not able to say that. Also vulnerable family members would appreciate household members staying at home

Of course I can well understand teachers not relishing the prospect of a potentially positive pupil being in class. The fact something is inevitable doesn't mean we welcome it.... but inevitable it is, and all this isolating just prolongs the time it takes for variant waves to pass through schools, lengthening the process, not reducing the overall risk. At least if it was allowed to pass through quickly those who were vulnerable could take extra precautions for a short period that may not be practical over an extended period.

Why do people need to be aware of that? And without sounding rude, why would anyone care if the teacher wants their child to attend school or not?

Well people don’t care that’s the problem. Like I’ve already said I hope none of you end up in a vulnerable position
