Vaccine for children

I'm in Scotland and ECV myself (Dd not ECV). She's 7 and I got a letter offering her the vaccine last week as we share a household.

I'm def not an anti-vaxxer. I've had 4 doses myself and couldn't get them fast enough due to my medical condition.

However, 4 vaccines and a positive antibody test later and I'm a bit more relaxed. The letter says the purpose in her getting it would be to protect me and I'm not sure I want to expose her to that given I'm now comfortable with my own risk level.

How does anyone else feel about vaccinating their dc?

In your situation I don’t think I would now, unless another bad variant came round. Plus, we’re heading towards summer when numbers should drop naturally.
I’d keep that letter, as now it’s been offered it wont be taken back, in case you decide to in the future.

It’s clearly your choice. I can only say that I wouldn’t do it, but I’m also not CEV and am not in your shoes. I know my CEV friend will go ahead vaccinating her 6 yo. I’m in my 30s, not at risk and have had 2 jabs+booster, but I’m not vaccinating my DS. He’s been flagged up and invited due to the historic appointment for the condition that never affected him. He’s in a good health otherwise, no ongoing conditions at all, not even mild. I don’t think vaccination is in his best interests.

My 13 year old has had both and I wouldn't hesitate to to get my 9 year old done if offered.

I wish my DC could get vaxxed to protect them.
