positive on sunday. have felt fine all week apart from tired and slight blocked up nose. so have spring cleaned house. done 2 x 40 minute home workouts every day- enough to feel i've done something but not worked up a massive sweat. gutted to still be positive on day 5. would it help if i did absolutely nothing? i would find that really difficult but i am desperate to resume normal life!!

No it won't help. Your body will get rid of it in its own time.

I disagree. Physical exertion can prolong and worsen symptoms. Look it up.

She’s only slightly tired with a bunged up nose.

Sadly nothing will get the virus out of your system quicker.

I'm not suggesting she goes and runs a marathon, but a bit of light exercise isn't going to do any harm if she is feeling well enough. Listen to your body.

If you're feeling tired, then yes I absolutely would rest. If you were feeling full of energy but with a stuffy nose, I'd say yes keep exercising. I know exercising can actually give you more energy under normal circumstances, but you're ill. When you're ill, tiredness is a signal from your body that you need to take it easy.

In my own experience, resting fully genuinely can help quicken recovery.

Thanks everyone.......as opinion seems split almost 50:50, i am going to do 50% less exercise today & see if that helps!

I agree that everything happens at its own pace, but we had it a couple of weeks ago (DSD10, DH50 and me at nearly 34, and 29 weeks pregnant) and I think I've changed my mind.

DSD flopped on the sofa, colouring, reading and watching TV. Very early nights and long lie ins.

I slept an awful lot too, and spent a lot of time in the bath due to pregnancy induced hip pain and being kicked to bits.

DH carried on working from home despite feeling awful, and ridiculously tried to decorate a bedroom. Wouldn't be told, tried to tough it out.

DSD and I were back to relative normality within four days (her totally fine and bouncing off the walls, me a bit under par still, but much of that may have been DD ramming her feet into my ribcage every three minutes and being knackered from the joys of pregnancy insomnia!) whereas he was really suffering for a fortnight. We had negative tests by day 7/8, he only had one today, on day 16.

Possibly total fluke, possibly not. But personally, I'm now a fan of taking it easy when ill!
