Have a horrible rank feeling in my mouth. It’s so hard to explain,
wondered if anyone else has?

Feel sort of burning, dry feeling.
My symptoms have included sore throat so it could be an extension of this. It’s unpleasant!

Have you tested for Covid? A family member said they had a burning sensation in mouth with it.

1TheCircle · 03/02/2022 23:28

Sorry yes I didn’t put that! Been positive for 7 days

I had covid tongue back when I tested positive in Jul 21. The way I described it was it was like I'd drank burning hot coffee and my tongue was so sore from it. I eventually got some medicine from drs who said they'd never heard of covid tongue Hmm months later I still get it. It goes, then another flare up happens and so on. I slowly get an awful taste in my mouth too.

*I also get

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 03/02/2022 23:49

Been positive for seven days

I’m guess that’s your answer then…

tigger1001 · 04/02/2022 00:12

I had this. Was like I had eaten really strong vinegar crisps. Tongue was so sore and sensitive. Has got better though although did have a curry last weekend and I struggled to eat it as seemed really hot. Hotter than normal

CandyLeBonBon · 04/02/2022 06:02

Yes I tested positive on Tuesday morning and my tongue is so sensitive and tender - like I'm eating a pack of really strong salt and vinegar crisps!

CasparBloomberg · 04/02/2022 06:25

I’ve had a sore throat and swollen tongue/tastebuds since Wednesday. Felt like I’d burned it. No other symptoms and covid tests are all negative, so assumed not covid but a throat infection. Currently just living on ice cream, cottage cheese and chilled foods. 😆

1TheCircle · 04/02/2022 07:18

I’m hoping it’s a symptom that won’t last!

@GreenFingersWouldBeHandy I wondered if anyone else had it and can sympathise with me! And more importantly that it doesn’t last!

It certainly was my worst covid symptom! Just seems so tender and sore all the time.

Hopefully it eases soon for you

Yes that's how my tongue went before I lost some taste around day 8. It lasted a couple of days. On day 10 I was suddenly v tired and crashed all afternoon after which it felt slightly better. Today, day 11, it does feel like it's healing.

It’s a strange thing. Also had a very faint positive 2 days ago, so wrongly assumed I was maybe going to neg today. now it’s blazing positive almost purple!! So def not better yet.

@HoldenCaulfieldismyhomeboy how are u now ? X

UnDruidlyWords · 12/05/2023 11:39

I had that last year and initially put it down to eating too many raw mulberries, but it went for about 8 months. Horrible it was, really sore, spicy food tasted really hot and S&V crisps were out of the question. From what I recall, it went away quite suddenly. Hope you feel better soon.

LightlySearedontheRealityGrill · 12/05/2023 12:42

Are you peri menopausal, it can be a symptom. Its also a symptom of B12 deficiency, so try a sublingual B12 and see if it helps.

Starrr123 · 12/05/2023 15:27

@UnDruidlyWords hi! Was it everyday or on and off ? Xx

UnDruidlyWords · 12/05/2023 16:24

@Starrr123 - the intensity changed, but it was pretty much constant. Gone now, thank goodness.

Badgeringabout · 20/05/2023 09:53

Check out burning mouth syndrome OP. Not linked to covid though.
