Omicron - suddenly feeling worse

I'm on day 10 and it's been quite flu like. A couple of days ago I had more energy and honestly started to feel better, but I haven't been doing huge amounts. Yesterday my taste was noticeably impaired. But I was able to do bits of work.

This afternoon I completely crashed though.

Did this happen to anyone else who then felt better?

A bit concerned this is dragging on. Dh seems better more quickly.

I think this is pretty normal. I had original COVID in March 2020 and felt worst between days 9-12, slowly started to turn the corner from day 13 onwards. I felt really frustrated that I was still running a low-grade fever on days 16-17 and getting heart palpitations on day 20. You should hopefully do better if you're vaccinated.

It's rubbish I know - just rest and do less than you want to do. If you don't already have an oximeter I'd recommend this, just to have the reassurance of checking your oxygen levels. Argos do next-day delivery cheaply. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Hi i felt exactly the same and i tested positive until around day 11 i think. I tested positive around 4 weeks ago now and im still exhausted. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks both.

I'm sorry to hear that frankie. We've naively thought this was "cold like." Because of vaccines. I dread to think what it's like without. Thanks

I think I'm now worrying about going back to work next week. Not till midweek but they'll probably like to know by Monday.

With young kids inc one not yet at school it's v hard to rest.

I've just spoken to a friend who works the Covid icu's and she said that there's often a relapse around day 7-10. This is when they often get people coming into hospital.

I can tell a lot of the nerve stuff is settling today. Tongue settled down. Just knackered.

I hope everyone else recovers soon Thanks

@Dinodora it’s hard with a child at home. Ivw got a 19 month old and 2 at school. I felt a lot better day 5/6 but now day 7 my mouth has gone all weird and I def feel shattered again. And just massively fed up.

HairyScaryMonster · 04/02/2022 10:27

Yep, felt fluey for 4 days, so much better day 5 and 6 then left with such fatigue for another 4 or 5 days.
