I'm currently off work with long Covid. I'm asthmatic, normally very well controlled but Covid has totally buggered it up.

Now on my second lot of oral steroids in 2 weeks to try combat the breathlessness and chest tightness.

Day to day I don't wear a bra at home, I'm finding them too restrictive now however I need one when I'm out and about and for when I get back to work.

Does anyone have the same problem and what are you using? I am large-ish chested (G cup) and don't wear underwired bras at all I've worn the Sainsbury's DD+ non wired comfort bras for a few years now but I'm even struggling with those.

I'm needing something supportive for when I'm out but that doesn't restrict my already shitty lungs.

Thank you!

I have costocondritis, and have the same problem. I was going to suggest a comfy lounging bra from Morrisons. That’s what I wear when I can’t wear a bra, or a tight ish but not too tight strap top
Under your top? I am also large of boob so I feel your pain!

KylieKoKo · 02/02/2022 11:51

I have some bralettes from bravissimo which are supportive enough for me (34F).

I only wear proper bras when I'm wearing a top that requires cleavage now.

I would get some tight fitting vest tops a size or two smaller than you would usually wear. That would be supportive without being overly restrictive.

The M&S sleep bra is really soft and comfortable

Porcupineintherough · 02/02/2022 12:28

Costochodrititus here too. Its bralettes or nothing now for me, luckily I'm only a b cup.

M&S sleep bra/sleep vests are good.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/02/2022 13:21

Marks and spencers Flexifit bras.

I had this problem with breathlessness and I bought some bra back extenders from M&S, £5 for a pack of three and it made my own bras more comfortable until my chest was better. Hope you feel better soon

AntiHop · 02/02/2022 14:31

If you don't have a bravissimo near you, they do excellent phone consultations. They have bras that cross over on your back which may be more comfortable for you.

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 02/02/2022 16:28

Oh I didnt think about bra extenders, great idea! Will definitely pick up some sleep bra too. There's a Bravissimo in Glasgow which is about 45 mins from me, I could definitely pop up there if I'm struggling to find anything

Molke bras - really comfortable if you get right size

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 03/02/2022 00:35

@wordleaddict that site is amazing! Never heard of them before, I think I'd be 'Cosmic' so going to have a browse now. Thank you!
