Do I still do lfts after covid?

I'm currently on day 7 and still testing positive Angry

Once I reach day 10 and return to work in a school, do I still do lfts twice a week? Or do I leave it for a while? How long if so?

You don’t need to do any LFT’s after your 10 days isolation.
You shouldn’t do any LFT’s for 90 days post covid infection, as it can remain positive for this long in some cases.
If you were to develop symptoms again, you can arrange a PCR.

I think that’s right!

That’s not true

LFT is advised now because of the new strain.

Hmm depends on your works policy. I work in H&S care and had covid in nov, my 90 days is not up till end feb but I’ve been having to do lft 3times weekly since I went back, every day for 10 days atm due to a case at work.
You are not meant to do pcrs within 90 days as they will likely show positive for a good while, but when I had covid my lft were neg by day 4.

PCR are 90 days not lfts.

Cardio101 · 30/01/2022 22:44

Ahh my mistake, they changed the rules!
It explains on the NHS website if you Google it

Don't do a PCR for 90 days, but LFD tests can be used reliably as soon as you start testing negative after the current infection has cleared. Which may not happen by day 10.

KindergartenKop · 31/01/2022 08:05

So if I'm still positive at day 10 I keep testing to get a few negatives and then test twice weekly? Will ask at work.

Depends on your work policy as that's not central law or guidance. Many work places didn't have LFT testing in the first place.
