So we are flying to the Netherlands in March. But I have now got covid. I know I need a negative PCR to gain entry to NL but I know I may be positive for up to 90 days on a PCR. What do I do?

I have not travelled at all during the pandemic so a bit confused by it all anyway!!

I know I don't need anything to come back to the UK so it's really just getting into NL.

Netherlands accept a negative LFT for entry but you need to isolate for 10 days when you get there which can be shortened to 5 days by taking a PCR while there.

Chances of you still being positive in 2 months are slim.
You take your pre travel pcr, and hope it's negative and carry on as normal, but have a backup plan on the off chance it's positve (either from the January infection, or fron a new one)

Yes they are very slim.

But it there anything I need to do now while I have Covid? As in do I need a PCR? All I have done is LFTs.

.gov says you can do an antigen test for entry which is an LFT.

Have you registered your positive LFT?

rambleonplease · 30/01/2022 15:34

@dementedpixie yes I have registered and put the code in my NHS app.

So could I just do a LFT for NL? But presumably not one from home?

You'd need to book and pay for the LFT and cant use the free ones

Thank you. I'll probably do this then rather than waste money and risk a pos PCR
