Fresh air

Am I tired because I've stayed in for over a week or due to covid?

Genuine question? My mental health has been awful this week, physically I feel tired but how much of this is due to the isolation period?

I guess I'll find out in a couple of days when I get back to normal?

Just wondering if anyone else feels that covid recovery would benefit from outdoor time given transmission pretty much doesn't happen outside.

I realise of course that not everyone lives in the suburbs with the luxury of their own front door but maybe even those in flats should be able to leave with a mask on until they reach open space after say 5 days in?

Yes I do agree… whenever I have a cold or virus I really benefit from a walk in the fresh air. I felt lethargic and tired after the covid isolation period, but as soon as I could get out for a bracing dog walk I perked up a lot.

I think Covid does a bit of a number on mental health in general. Many reported feeling down and tearful. Whether that’s the virus itself, the lack of exercise/movement/ fresh air is unclear.

I think fresh air when you feel well enough would help. Obviously against ‘the rulz’ though. I would have no qualms about going for a short walk around the block near nobody once I felt well enough but many wouldn’t. You’re obviously not going to spread it outside near nobody. I really feel for those in flats. I guess you’d have to walk through a communal area to get outside so slightly more risk.

What is also hard is the isolation of asymptomatic well children. Kids need fresh air and exercise, especially if they’re not ill.

In a few more months all this madness will end. If you’re ill you stay at home and rest until you feel better.

I tend to agree. Staying indoors for a week won't do you any good, and if you lived in the country and could get out for a walk without seeing anyone you would probably come out of isolation in much better shape.

I felt the same. I was so tired at home isolating when I had covid that I didn't know how I was going to manage going back to work.

As soon as I was back out and about the tiredness lifted and was back to normal quite quickly.
