Are sinus pressure and nausea Covid symptoms?

Ds1 just getting over Covid (had since last Friday). Dh positive today. DS2 sent home from school (coughing, sure throat, headache - negative LFT still). I have above symptoms. Also negative LFT. I had to get PCR for DS1. I can keep DS2 off tomorrow but I don't think work will be happy if I don't go in due to getting a PCR, when my LFT is negative. They'll just say the LFT is negative so I need to go in... We are short staffed. What should I do?

They were for me, yes

Thanks, that makes me feel more confident that it is and I need to stick to my guns.

I don't get sick pay (only statutory) so I'm not trying to wangle a paid day off!

These days scratching your arse is a COVID symptom. But tbh I'd go with what the LFT says, it indicates infectiousness so even if you're positive the next day, doesn't mean you were infectious the day before.

Yes. I’ve had nausea and on and off sinus pains. I’m day 7, fully vaccinated, still feeling groggy/fatigued.

I'v just had covid confirmed by pcr. LFT just up nose are negative, LFT and pcr where I swabbed my throat positive. Have you just done your nose?

Headache was the worst symptom, so much pressure.

Vickles20 · 27/01/2022 20:37

Oh. And my 10 yr old son was negative in the morning then positive in the evening with slight headache and not wanting food.
He’s Day 2 now. Managing fine

Describe your symptoms, mention the fact that Covid is in the house and tell them you are getting a PCR test. Do not mention the lateral flow test. If anyone suggests it say you are supposed to do a PCR if you have symptoms. If they ask if you’ve done a lateral flow test say no, not recently. You won’t have done one tomorrow.
Be firm.
If you have to do lft for work, you will have to just say you are too sick to come in.
Be firm.

Yes, inflamed sinuses and nausea were 2 of my main symptoms along with ear problems.

I did have a fine selection of symptoms though including headache, muscle aches, loss of smell, fatigue, sore throat, sneezing etc.

In view of the fact you have household members with Covid it is entirely sensible to get a PCR test. My first symptoms were a sore throat and earache. I got a PCR because DH had already tested positive.

DS2 is on day 3 and was retching over the toilet yesterday. He wasn’t actually sick, but has felt sick for last few days.

Sinus pressure and headache yes as well.

MerryMarigold · 27/01/2022 21:07

Thanks. Yes I've done nose and throat for LFT. Will do first thing tomorrow before food as apparently can be stronger then. I feel pretty dodgy anyway so will see what a night's sleep does.

Sore sinuses and a very runny nose were my main symptoms when I had covid last month. All my LFTs were negative (both types, nasal only and nasal plus throat). I decided to get a PCR (which came back positive) as the rest of the household had all tested positive!
