Will hospitals change their covid rules?

I am wondering with all the changes / planned removals of rules if hospitals will change their procedures in relation to covid. I can't find any information online. I understand that isolation rules will change, but currently before elective surgery or births, patients have to do covid tests. If for example a father-to-be tests positive before the birth of a child he is not able to be present for the birth. Is this set to stop? Thanks in advance if anybody knows the answer.

You would probably need to check the individual trust. I have just looked on my trusts FB page and all the new info is there. Pretty much seems to be no change at the moment though.

Thanks . I am due to give birth in June. My friend told me that all restrictions including tests of patients and staff will likely have lifted by then. Midwife etc says it likely won't change much for hospitals but I'm not sure they know. I'm not especially worried either way but interested if anybody had any updates , particularly people working in the NHS.

Purely guesswork but a change point would be more likely when isolation periods are dropped rendering Covid as the majority of illnesses.

I have appts on Friday and next Tuesday. Precautions have been increased. I now need a negative lft taken in the two hours before the appt.

I would assume mw was best placed to advise. Ime hospitals have changed little over the course of pandemic regarding testing, outpatients and visiting.

Thanks everyone. I can't believe that restrictions like compulsory testing, isolation/ seperation of positive cases and masks would be dropped in hospitals for some time (even if they are elsewhere). But who knows as the measures must all cost the hospital's time and money. But then so would nosocomial infections ! It will be interesting to see any difference between this and the birth of my previous child (march 2020). That was very stressful due to so much being unknown. So I'm trying to get as much info this time round in a very control freakyy way.

It's unlikely due to the impact staff getting COVID has on ability to manage caseloads. For example, when one of our Obs got covid, we cancelled all scheduled c sections for 2 days as we could only handle emergencies and had difficulty getting a locum.

Nothing changing for my trust for the forseeable.
In fact we have stepped up for staff from surgical masks to FFP3.
We have never paused/stopped social distancing/masks/tests/attending alone since they were first required around April 2020.

I’d guess your midwife would have more of an idea than your friend Hmm
