I had positive lateral flows for a few days before I started to feel really unwell. I isolated but didn't necessarily believe it because I've had days of positive before and PCRs have been negative. But for about a week beforehand ive had this chesty feeling. Like when you used to spend the night in a smoky club and wake up with the feeling that your lungs were sore. That feeling is still with me. Is it Covid related? If so why feel it a week before lateral flows were positive? Has anyone else had this? I have sore ears, throat and just so fatigued now and things taste funny, but otherwise it's this chesty feeling bothering me. I have a sat monitor. Mine are usually 99 and they're ranging 94-96 now. Not so much a drop but maybe indicates some inflammation? I think what's throwing me off is that it was for a whole week before the positive I felt this

give 11 a call. I think you are meant to if sat levels below 95.

I’m on Day 6 of being positive although finally my line seems to have faded a little bit this morning.

I felt ill-ish on the day I took my first LFT and the day afterwards but I’m absolutely fine.

However, I woke up this morning which almost like a burning sensation in my chest. It’s hard to explain. I still feel okay but it’s just odd that it would appear now when my LFTs are fading as I would have expected it more when I had a higher viral load.

Anyhow - I have taken some paracetamol and it’s eased.

I’m thinking it may just be related to my cough.

Not covid, but whenever I’ve had a cold which hasn’t been too deliberating, I’ve nearly always ended up getting a chest infection a few days later and even once I was given a steroid inhaler. So I presume it’s quite possibly the same with covid. Call GP or 111, they may prescribe some steroids.

The tests could have been a faulty batch. Or maybe your viral load was too low for it to be detected. Either way, you should dose up on vitamins, turmeric, ginger, garlic. Things that are anti inflammatory. Call you doc too, or better 111, because you may be at a point where treatment is essential to you not getting any worse. You're going to be ok.

Taken several brands, they're definitely positive.

@CUL8Rmasturbator sorry, I was confused, I can't work out if you have it or not now from re-reading your post. Positive LFT but negative PCR? Maybe the PCR is the false negative? Sorry, don't mean to confuse you or me. haha Either way, point I want to make is that I think early treatment is important for outcomes. Even when we have mild symptoms it't best to give your body something to help it along.

Hope the feeling goes away quickly for you.

Being infectious isn’t necessarily a signal of how ill you feel but a sign of how much you can pass on to others.

So if you test positive on a LFT it’s because you’re more infectious (when it has actually picked it up), but the virus could still be working it’s magic on you after that stage passes!
