Hiyaa not sure how to go but here it goes...sorry if it's long🤦🏻‍♀️

me and a friend and my 6 year old went out on Saturday. My friend stayed with us Until Monday evening as she said she tested negative for covid.
Monday morning she felt rough and then she tested positive for covid but she's had all of her jabs, she was in and out my house through out Sunday and Monday but she left on Monday night if that makes sense.
Does anyone know or suggest what I should do or if it's possible for me to catch it or was it too soon.
Me and my daughter have done a test everyday since Sunday evening but still clear. Is it to soon to know or would We be showing some sort of symptom by now. I literally scrubbed my house top to bottom when she left and aired the house and have been wearing a mask since🤦🏻‍♀️
I've had covid once before about 3 and a half months ago. but we haven't been jabbed. We both feel fine....
We didn't have close contact but it's airborn so I don't know how to go about it.x
Thank you

Yes it is possible that you have already caught it.
You were sharing the same air space for several days prior to their positive test during which they may have been incubating the virus and it may have been distributing itself.

You simply do not know, as your immune system may have battled against the virus and stopped it from getting established in you. You may have been exposed to low levels of virus, you may not have been exposed at all. If you get a symptom, then test. Keep your contacts low so that if you are infected you do not spread it around too much.

It's possible you have it. Might be just too soon to show up on tests.

Having it 3 months ago means nothing. So many people have had it more than once. My Dd had it twice in the space of 5 weeks!

Hope you don't catch it though... you should be isolating for 10 days as a contact though?! Because you aren't vaccinated you'll have to isolate for 10 days after last contact with your friend!

Mindymomo · 26/01/2022 18:31

As you haven’t been vaccinated, you will have to isolate for 10 days and as a close contact, you both should do LFT for 7 days.

Also if you don’t catch it this time, maybe try and consider getting vaccinated.

GypsyWanderer · 26/01/2022 18:57

What I’ve worked out is that it seems totally random! Some share living space with several positive cases and never catch it (me and my DH) and some catch it twice (two of my children have been reinfected within 3 months, one of those after 5 weeks). I think it’s so unpredictable.

Thank you, we didn't have close contact but she was in and out every few hours. Sunday we didn't really see her but again she was in and out and on Monday she was out most the day and came back on the night then the positive test then she went home, I know we shared the same air but would this of helped with her in and out? she only tested positive on Monday evening so could she of caught it on Saturday? Would it be possible to infect us within them 2 days of her coming in and out Sorry if it's not making sense, #overthinking🤦🏻‍♀️x

She stayed in your house, so you are a close contact and have to isolate for 10 days as you are unvaccinated.

Isolation doesnt apply to your doctor

If you were indoors with her for 15 mins that is close contact. As she was a guest in your home that is close contact for isolating purposes.

Nobody can tell you if you will catch it or not but you do need to isolate for ten days and take regular tests.

Track and trace asked me where i had been and any houses i stayed and close contact isn't just being right next to each other

worriedatthemoment · 26/01/2022 19:50

Yes you may catch it or you may not
My ds tested positive covid on fri though think he had before i tested positive on sun still not testing positive on a LFT and no real symptoms
Dh and other ds both still negative
Although me and ds are isolating as much as we can

Ok thank you for all your responses I will be isolating I haven't been out my home since she left, I know my chances are very fine but would I have avoided it, might not of helped but I'm a detol lover and was constantly cleaning when she was here.. I'm so nervous 😔🤦🏻‍♀️x
