My poor ds! His third time with covid since 2020. The other times we didn’t catch it from him and now this time it seems to be going the same way. On day three or four now so maybe there’s time. What’s the average incubation period now?

Tell the scientists immediately. Post vivisection your body parts will aid science immensely and your sacrifice will be commemorated with small bronze statues in nearby provincial towns for many years.

Ok so probably within seven days. I’m in no way out of the woods yet
I was thinking with Omicron It’s about a day and you’ll know if you’ve caught it but clearly not!

I think omicron is with 2-5 days. Just had an outbreak at work and that seems to have played out though some staff have passed it to their family a week later.

DD 11 tested positive last Sunday and is still testing faintly positive so she can't go back to school yet.

DH tested positive last night, ie the Sunday after DD did.

I am still testing negative but am assuming it's a matter of time.

I read that you're at your most contagious two days before symptoms and three days after.

altmember · 25/01/2022 00:24

Incubation is thought to vary between 36 and 72 hours for omicron. And it's way more infectious than the previous variants, so just because you escaped it last time, doesn't mean you will this time.

It depends at when point it actually gets to you when you're being continuously exposed to it. No guarantee you'll catch it the moment a family member becomes infectious. I caught it from my kids 8 days after they all tested positive. We hadn't been making much effort to avoid each other, as I assumed I must be already incubating it. But as the days went on the more I thought I was going to get away with it. So you're not totally safe until several days after they're all back to testing negative, but most people do seem to catch it fairly quickly.

Husband dodged it twice in our house, and was in close contact for prolonged periods, in a car with the positive cases, both times, whereas the rest of us did not avoid catching it.

He now thinks he's invincible! Hmm

With delta it seemed to be 6 days roughly and missed family members, only to then spread via another. Families I know were isolating for 3 weeks or more while it went through.

My fil didn't pass it to mil for 6 days but we don't know what that was. They coughed and sneezed a lot and had headaches.

I think we have omicron and based on symptoms it's about 3-4 days between us. So far it's been feeling hot or freezing on and off, small had brief temps for two days. I have a slight sore throat and insomnia.

I tested positive on Saturday morning and DS positive for the first time today. DH not testing positive yet. So unfortunately not yet out the woods 😭

I feel you. We’ve now got covid in the house for the 4th time and me and DH still haven’t caught it. DS14 caught it in October then his 2 brothers and sister caught it in December. Then he caught it again 3 weeks ago and now his brother has caught it for a second time! It feels relentless at the moment. I’m wondering if me and DH will ever get it though.
