Travel to Italy

Myself, DH and 3DC are due to fly to Lake Como in April (Easter Holidays). We live in the EU but I'm finding their travel rules confusing. Be grateful if anybody ould help me out.

Do over 12's need to be vaccinated?
Anybody know what the super green pass is?
Any idea if they will change their rules before April?
It reads they don't accept booster certs and vaccinations have had to be within the last 9 months. Myself and DH are boosted and received second vaccine in July.

If you dont meet all the requirements your required to test every two days in a pharmacy.

If anybody has travelled there or has any other information I would appreciate it.

Rules are bound to change between now and Easter. So I would worry about this closer to the time.

But as a general rule, to enter Italy from another EU country you just need an EU Digital Covid Certificate. Which can be double vaccination, recovery, or negative test. I’m sure all of you have (or can get) one.

I was in Italy recently but the current rules are a bit different so I don’t want to give inaccurate information. At the same time like I said, don’t stress trying to understand the rules now. Do it a few weeks before you travel. Unless you’re re-considering vaccinating teenagers, in which case it could be useful to find out what a vaccine pass vs negative test gets you into.

Right now yes over 12s need to be double jabbed. A super green pass is someone who has completed the full cycle of vaccination and the second jab is no more than 120 days . As previously poster said things are likely to change. You need a super green pass to go into bars / restaurants and on public transport. Green pass to go into essential shops. Current rules due to be assesed at the end of the month..... I hope they will change by April !!! I am getting fed up of having to show pass to get a coffee !

Thank you both for replying. Yes we are considering getting our 12 and 14 year old vaccinated. I don't want to leave it too long but at the same time would love to have a definite answer sooner rather than later with regards to their rules.

Myself and DH are double vaccinated and boosted. Do they accept the booster for the super green pass. Our second vaccine was the 23rd July 2021.

They will accept the booster for super green pass, yes.
The second vaccine is too far back to count, because it is more than 4 months ago
For kids: without vaccine or a proof of recovery in the last 120 days your kids will really struggle to get into museum, restaurants and the likes. Time the vaccines properly because the second dose must be at least 2 weeks before travel.

Use this website to check the rules, I found it very handy! reopen.europa.eu/en

cherin · 18/01/2022 16:31

(And check it frequently, because clearly the rules change quite often)

At the moment the kids won't even be able to eat outside restaurants or use any form of public transport without a pass. I'm sure that will change (fingers crossed) before the spring.

Thanks Everyone. I'm really on the fence. I will have to make a decision regarding vaccines ASAP as will have to factor in the time between vaccines yo make sure they are fully covered.
