Getting children to school if a parent has covid

I'm sure this has been covered before but I've searched and can't find anything. I've just had a positive and a negative lft so been for a pcr to confirm.
As the children have already missed so much school I don't want to keep them off if I don't have to. I will be doing daily lfts on them.
How did parents get their children to school? We're a 5 minute drive to school and they are 6 and 9 so can walk into school if I drop them to the gate? But what about pick up, has anyones school agreed to bring them out to the car, maybe 10 minutes before normal pick up?
Or do I just need to keep them off and try and homeschool them as best as possible.

Mine had to stay of school. I was positive and dp left for work at 6.30 nothing else can be done!

I took mine while I was positive. School said a teacher would meet her at the gates which they did. Pickup, I arranged for another parent to walk her to my car (we have a class WhatsApp). It’s a 5 minute drive to school, I didn’t leave the car. Perfectly safe. If in a one in a billion chance my car happened to break down, I’d have just pulled up safely, put a mask on & walked home. I do live semi-rurally, so I’m driving on quiet roads. The chances were beyond tiny!

*I’ve also picked up kids whose parents have been isolating & taken them to school. We have a spare car seat. The first week back in January, I picked up one child in my car & then parked up & walked to a nearby house and collected another. There has been lots of parents doing that this term so far!

Maybe ask if anyone is happy to do that for you? I’m not remotely worried about covid so always quite happy to help others!

Contact school and explain, our local public health teams arranged transportation when this situation arose.

Drop them off. Ask a parent or teacher to walk them to car at pick up

I've walked children to school when the parent is isolating, but not sure how I'd feel about sharing a car.
