Have I left it too long between doses?

Hi everyone,

I had my second dose of Pfizer today, I have been meaning to go for ages but have a very difficult baby and had been waiting for someone to have her (single mum) decided to bite the bullet and just go. I was checking my vaccine details after my appointment and realised that I actually had my first dose back at the end of June last year! Will this mean I’ve effectively started again and will need another second dose, or do I just wait the three months to have my booster? I’ve had a look on the NHS website and I can’t find any information. It wasn’t mentioned at the appointment but I had forgotten to bring my little card so I don’t know if they didn’t mention the gap as they didn’t realise it had been so long.

I feel so silly now and wish I’d just taken her and gone sooner, but I didn’t want to take her around loads of people when she was so tiny either :(

I wouldn't have thought they'd give you another 2nd dose most likely a booster now? Might be wrong though
They can usually find you on the system so they'd seen the dates themselves I'd thought

they will hav seen the dates on the system, I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't worry about it, for various reasons mine were 10 months apart and recommended by two Dr's, one of whom highly qualified and involved in the vaccine trials. The day I went for it I read an article (sorry can't find it now) that showed a longer gap produced higher levels of antibodies were produced, they had tested it at various intervals up to a 10 month gap.

2 doses is still 2 doses AFAIK. I think I read that they brought the dosage gap together 8/12w to make it easier to get through the vaccination programme but I might be well wrong.

I got Pfeizer. Apparently the documents say 21 - 42 days for maximum efficacy. I called a nurse because I'd been sick for weeks after it (unrelated) and couldn't get in

A "booster"isn't a separate kind of vaccine, or a different quantity of the drug (except for Moderna when it's a half dose).it's exactly the same as a second dose. So the OP has had a second vaccine.

In the vaccine centres I have worked in the opinion seems to be the longer the gap the better. The problem with a longer gap is that the person is semi-vaccinated for a longer time.
