Have you or anyone you know tested positive for Covid while on holiday abroad?

Does anyone have any actual experience of testing positive for Covid while on holiday abroad? I know lots of people just take the gamble that they won't test positive for Covid while abroad. But it's not exactly a remote risk, and it's really making me nervous about booking a foreign holiday. Any actual experience? Eg if on a package tour, did you get any help from your tour operator?

We're just moving this thread to our Coronavirus topic (and giving it a bump for the OP).

Yes. Just before Christmas, dad and daughters had to stay but mum had to come home (negative) and spend Christmas alone.....

Yes I know a few (within last couple of months). One got removed to a hospital by the authorities and had to stay there until returning negative pcrs, so flew home.2 weeks after the rest of the family. Didn't have to pay for the stay but it sounded pretty grim. Travel insurance paid for the change of flight.
Another tested positive and stayed in their hotel room for the isolation, spent hours in the phone trying to clarify travel insurance/flights etc. Luckily didn't feel too unwell, it would have been impossible if they were really poorly. Had to outlay a lot of costs with no guarantee of insurance paying out. At best insurance will only pay the hotel and flight change costs, all the extra incidentals room service, laundry etc. Not claimable

Yes, this Christmas. We went to visit family though, so no package or hotels involved.
I and DD isolated there with a few days to spare before our return flight, but DH couldn't return as he tested positive in the pre-departure test.
Our flights were flexible, so he has been able to change the return date without any penalties (EasyJet and I think this is standard in most companies?)
