I’m only on day 4 and thought I was feeling better but yet again it’s got to teatime and beyond and I’m feeling much worse. I’ve also got ringing ears and feel restless even though I’m barely sleeping.

Interested to hear others experiences 😊

I'm on day 9 and I still feel worse at night. Mainly the cough and blocked up nose.

Thanks for the reply. I think there’s something overwhelming when evening approaches and you know you might not sleep so feeling worse makes me worry new symptoms are going to start.

yep would sometimes feel a bit better in the middle of the day but get a lot worse at night. I've found that with a lot of illnesses though

Nikki128 · 12/01/2022 20:39

Even as I type this, its hard not cough all the time. Hope you have a speedy recovery x

Yes but I also feel worse with colds and flu, first thing in morning and evenings as your body is tired and run down. That’s why I always give it an hour or so before I tell my kids they can have the day off school, you can’t trust a morning temperature!!

On a serious note, hope you feel better soon OP. Take it steady- I felt ok with covid until day 6 because I was taking it easy. Then I stupidly started an autumn clean of the house and felt way worse. Yes stupidly is the word. Just wait it out, you will soon improve!

aLittleL1fe · 12/01/2022 20:58

Good to share experiences. I'm on day 8 and was contemplating going back to work today (wfh so no commute involved) because I don't have high temperature anymore and don't feel near as shit as a couple of days ago. However after a sleepless night I've been in bed all day, dozing off most of the day, so that's not really compatible with productivity. Cough and tiredness are very persistent. I'm 43 and generally fit, no underlying conditions. I'm hoping that after 10 days I'll be OK.

Yes I'm on day 18 now and nights are still awful, my sinuses seem to swell and I can't breathe

aLittleL1fe · 12/01/2022 21:50

gosh... are you able to rest enough or are you working or looking after young children @stitchmaker85?

stitchmaker85 · 12/01/2022 22:04

I'm back at work this week doing 2 days a week as usual, just incredibly fatigued from not sleeping well. My daytime symptoms seem to have gone now, but then again last Friday/Saturday I felt fine then on Sunday I felt awful again so incredibly up and down. I only have one DD who is 9 so relatively independent apart from school runs/meals etc.

@Vallmo47 weren't you nervous about passing your covid to others in the house through your cleaning efforts? Or did they catch it already anyway?

Vallmo47 · 12/01/2022 22:11

No to be honest I wasn’t nervous at all. My daughter and I are vulnerable and we already had it. My son and husband never caught it at all and I discovered afterwards that my son was even sharing a towel with his sister by accident and my husband snuggled her under a blanket watching a film a couple of times. I figured me cleaning everywhere was a good thing for the boys as I was removing our germs!

aLittleL1fe · 12/01/2022 22:11

@stitchmaker85 this is really helpful to know. I was agonising over how long to stay off work but in the end decided that it's best not to rush it. I'm glad I didn't go back yet and your experience confirms it, thanks for sharing. Can't believe you're still feeling it 18 days on....

aLittleL1fe · 12/01/2022 22:15

Interesting @Vallmo47 I'm itching to clean Grin but trying to contain my excitement Grin My both kids are testing negative so far, and haven't had covid before, so I'm trying to stay out of their way.

Pootle40 · 12/01/2022 22:25

It's due to the body's immune system which rests (as we do) at night so you can start to feel rough again in evenings. I've had that with bad colds too.

1AngelicFruitCake · 13/01/2022 06:24

Thanks everyone, I will take your advice about taking it easy Vallmo. I’ve noticed I’ve got the brain fog people talk about, going to get something and not knowing what it is, getting mixed up etc. I’m on my feet a lot at work so I’m now wondering if I’ll be back on Monday. Great to hear other stories.

Im on day 20 now, and generally ok, back at work etc. But still feel ropey sometimes at night. I had to take 2 paracetamol last night as felt so grim Sad And I am still definitely not sleeping properly. Ive woken up totally exhausted. Oh, and my average daily resting heartr ate (I wear a garmin smartwatch) is still around 10 beats higher than it was pre -covid which is odd and suggests my body is still in recovery mode!)
I didnt really rest much when I had it (positive pcr on Christmas day!) and have been super busy since being back at work. On relfection I wish I had rested more - so do make sure you ar egetting enough rest to let your body heal.

Vallmo47 · 13/01/2022 06:51

Take care op!

Mamabear12 · 13/01/2022 10:04

Most people feel worse at night when they are sick. Or for example, fever comes back in eveing/night sometimes when sick. I notice this with my kids in the past few years and myself the two times ive been sick in the last ten years.
