New isolation rules, am I right ?

Dd18 has this morning tested positive on a LFT, am I right in thinking she does not need a PCR?

Also is it correct it's 7 days isolation including today and on days 6 &7 ( Monday &Tuesdays) she needs to retest and get a negative one both to be able to leave the house and return to work on Wednesday?

Log the LFR, which you have to do anyway. You then register with test and trace or whatever it's called, it asks you date test done etc and then literally tells you EXACTLY what date you can test on, potentially come out of isolation on etc.

I think it's because previously we've always had to work in complete days, whereas the guidance now says 'after the second negative test' not 'midnight on the day of the second negative test' or 'the morning after the second negative test'. So rather than a reduction of three days it's effectively a reduction of four days because everyone will take their tests first thing in the morning.
@tigger1001 PCR result was needed as evidence for time off work etc, but this has changed a couple of days ago and a positive LFT is sufficient.
I get that, but the rules do currently say if symptoms pcr test. But can't see the point of having to travel (I live rurally so it's quite a distance) when feeling rubbish just to confirm a positive lft. I understand it if symptoms and a negative lft but not a positive one.

The rules changed here last week on the day typically my partner tested positive on lft so he needed to do pcr but my lft wasn't positive until the next day so I haven't don't a follow up pcr. When I logged the positive lft I got the isolation dates for my employer straight away but no mention of day 6/7 testing

I'm Scotland. I tested positive on an LFT Monday (10/1/2022). Test and Protect have said I've to isolate until and including 19/1/2022 (Day 10). By my reckoning, if I test negative on an LFT on Saturday (day 6) and Sunday (day 7), providing there's 24 hours between the tests, then I can get out on Sunday as that's day 7?

Where does it say that if tests are negative on day 6 and 7 then you are released on day 8 I thought the rule was test negative day 6 and 7 and can be back to work the same day I.e day 7. This is the rule my employer is going by too

Yes, mine too. For adults and children. Everyone's been able to come back on Day 7 so far. The mild infections seem to go negative quickly. Technically, I think you are supposed to avoid crowded places and work from home but DfE gave schools an exemption from that. Not sure if other professions have done the same. Worth checking.
