Positive pcr abroad - recognised by the NHS?

Is it possible to report a pcr taken abroad to the NHS? I followed all of the isolation rules abroad but would like my recovery registered on the NHS if possible? Thanks

Not under any method that I have seen.

Thank you @BambinaJAS! My day 2 test is likely to be positive as although I'm already on day 11 there is still a line on my lft. So I guess that will be another lot of isolation for me? 😫

If I read your situation correctly:

  1. You tested positive abroad

NHS will not recognise this as a previous infection so you also cannot use it as an "infected but recovered" criteria.

Essentially, the NHS only recognises tests that have been processed in the UK when it comes to their own internal database (i.e. if you tested positive under a PCr test in the UK your corona pass in the NHS app would then eventually update 14 days after you had recovered from the infection. The date of the test would also show up).

I am not sure how LFTs are going to work for Day 2 tests now as they are less sensitive. You could potentially test negative (asymptomatic) at the tail end of your isolation period (assume 10 days) from abroad if the Day 2 test falls within that window since they are not asking for pre-departure tests now (this is a huge can of worms).
