Covid positive 38+6 weeks

Not sure what the point of this thread is really but I’ve tested positive yesterday (Sat) after developing symptoms the day before and I’m now 38+6 weeks pregnant.
My partner developed symptoms 24 hours before me with a positive lateral flow….I haven’t woken him at 3am to check his phone for his result but I’m pretty sure he will be positive too.

Never have I wanted this baby to stay in so much because my partner won’t be able to come if he’s positive and I go in to labour. I am double jabbed and boosted, have worked in hospital for the last 2 years and avoided catching it so the timing is awful (been on may leave since middle of December).

Just want to know if anyone tested positive so close to their due date and didn’t labour? I know if I have negative LFT’s day 6 and 7 then I won’t have to isolate the full 10 days, which would work well as my induction of labour is booked when I would be day 9 Confused

Had a very rough day with sore throat, temperature, lower back pain and fatigue yesterday but seemed to be better by the evening and feeling not to bad now apart from not being able to sleep.

Tested positive just after Christmas 36 +4 felt awful, also double jabbed and just had my booster before Christmas.
Still not better if I'm honest still very weak and it seems to have manifested into a cold though I'm now covid negative and have been since day 8.
Awful time if I'm honest and so far (praying it stays that way) no signs of labour and still plenty of movement.

Didn't want to read and run. What an awful time really couldn't be worse for you my sympathies.

If it's any help DH was positive over Christmas slight fever one day when was absolutely fine tested negative on day 5 then again on 6 and 7. Hopefully you can stay well.

I would say to keep your fluids up and rest.

I hope baby stays put, I would also consider having another birthing partner on standby, do you have any family or friends who can step in?

Sorry to hear it’s dragged on with you…yesterday I felt horrendous on day 2 of symptoms but now it just feels like a cold, which I can manage, although I wouldn’t want to labour as I am right now. Hoping I’ll feel much better even in just a few days time. Baby is still moving good with me also, and I haven’t had a temperature for over 16 hours now so feeling hopeful.

That’s good to hear, my partner seemed to have 24 hours of feeling awful but still was up and about the house but just has cold like symptoms now so hopefully will only need to isolate for 7 days. I’m resting plenty (I slept most of yesterday which is why I’m wide awake now) and baby is moving as normal so I’m quite reassured Smile

My mum is on standby, and my sister in law is a midwife where I will give birth and on standby too. I am also a midwife where I will be giving birth so I’m lucky to know everyone who will look after me if I do have to be on my own…hoping we won’t need to though.
