Omnicrom - very emotional??

I’m just recovering and am starting to feel like real but in the few days before I first tested, which were probably a couple of days post exposure, I was a weeping wreck and also threw up. Is this usual?

Pregnant?

Westmeathtip · 07/01/2022 02:56

100% nope.

Pre Omicron, but a friend of mine told she felt terribly emotional when she had covid. Convinced that she and her husband were going to break up. Sad

Mindymomo · 07/01/2022 07:27

Lots of people have said Omicron systems are a lot like menopause symptoms and being tearful is one of them.

Bobholll · 07/01/2022 11:03

I don’t think covid can mess with your hormones .. are you on contraception? Time of the month? Have you had any stress from isolating such as stuck at home with young kids or not able to work? Have you been anxious about covid pre-getting it? And now you are just processing it all?

All these things would likely contribute to you feeling a bit emotional.

AnyFucker · 07/01/2022 11:05

Yes. I sobbed all the way through the PCR test much to the consternation of the helpers. We got lost on the way there so burst into tears again. Just randomly in tears for nothing. It seems to be a thing.

Siuan · 07/01/2022 12:58

I was like that on day 6 of Delta.
The weepiness stopped but I still had nausea and vomiting for another 2 weeks.

CrazySnakeWoman · 07/01/2022 12:59

Yes! I tested positive on Monday and have been very weepy, especially at night. Most unlike me!

CovidCurious · 07/01/2022 18:01

I was just about to post a similar question. I had random crying fits for no particular reason. It was similar to what happened before I went onto HRT.

Nenanena · 07/01/2022 21:34

I had this too! Most odd. On the Monday I literally couldn't stop crying. On the Tues morning I woke with migraine like headache, feeling queasy and a sore patch on the roof of my mouth. By lunchtime having rested and taken ibuprofen I felt much better and mood had lifted too. I did a lateral flow test that day which was negative. On Wed and Thu I had a sore throat and very mild headaches. On the Fri I did another lateral flow and tested positive. Confirmed by PCR. I am convinced that the weepiness was the start of Covid.

Tiredout123 · 07/01/2022 22:01

I had this with Delta in October. A couple of days before testing positive and before other symptoms, I was in tears a lot and wondering why

astoundedgoat · 07/01/2022 22:08

Nightmares & weepiness, yep.

Funnyname00 · 07/01/2022 22:30

This is interesting because I had a very early period when I had covid, which has never happened before. It must do something to hormones…

Ohshitiveturnedintomymother · 07/01/2022 22:34

This sounds like stress to me. I get weepy when stressed even if I don’t realise I’m stressed at the time.
Perhaps with all the info about COVID our a systems go into overdrive of fear of dying/being ill and we get more emotional

Wallawallakoala · 07/01/2022 22:37

Absolutely yes. I got myself into such a state, as soon as the peak of symptoms passed I started thinking logically again.

GuckGuckDoose · 07/01/2022 22:37

This is hilarious, this was my DH’s ONLY symptom the weekend before he tested - he turned in to an overly-emotional twatbag for 48 hours - SO unusual for him - then eventually his ‘normal’ symptoms came out and he went back to normal! So weird.

BurnedToast · 07/01/2022 22:37

I don't think this is that surprising a response. The whole situation for the last 2 years has been stressful for us all. I suspect we will only see it in many years when we reflect. This monstrous virus that killed millions and then when you get it of course it makes sense that brings emotion with it, even if it little more than a cold for most.

Sonata13 · 07/01/2022 22:42

Definitely made me tearful. Was crying watching The Snowman and at Wallace and Grommet because it was so cute. My friend was exactly the same. We both rarely cry!

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 07/01/2022 22:45

Yup my son and I were very tearful when we had covid. Hope you feel better soon OP

Covidtrap · 07/01/2022 22:51

Im so glad you posted this i too was tempted to ask something similar. I feel like i do just before i get my period. (Tested positive for covid 4 days ago - im guessing omicron very much cold/flu symptoms). The other day i felt really overwhelmed by having do even do the laundry, then i looked out into my back garden seen one of the hedges was overgrown and broke down in tears thinking i cant do this anymore Confused it was very bizarre. Ive cried about 4 times so far over little things that arent even significant or important. Glad to hear im not the only one i thought i was going through some strange phase

newyeardelurker · 07/01/2022 23:32

I remember a thread ages ago about an 'overwhelming sense of doom' being a symptom. Seemed very odd - but similar to this.

Momentsmatter · 08/01/2022 01:02

My friends daughter tested positive last week. My friend thought her symptoms started one day but test and trace said they would start it a day earlier because she was emotional the day before. Apparently this is a new symptom.

Wallawallakoala · 08/01/2022 01:03

Absolutely bonkers virus

Workinghardeveryday · 08/01/2022 01:05

My mum is on day 5. I can tell you, she has been extremely out of character, very emotional with outbursts!! It really has to be a thing.

feeona123 · 08/01/2022 01:05

My 6 year old son has just gone down with it and is very emotional.
