Possible covid at 18 weeks pregnant

I’m starting to panic, last week one of my husband’s coworker tested positive for covid, and we’re trying to find places to tests to see if we have it but there are no tests until the end of the week and I’m 18 weeks pregnant. I’m started to have a scratchy throat yesterday and that seems to be my only symptoms so far. My husband has no symptoms. Everyone keeps telling me that I’m overreacting and that I don’t have covid because it’s been a week, but I’m sure I do and I don’t know where to test now. I’m terrified that if it’s positive I won’t be able to get the right treatment and something will happen to my baby. I’m so exhausted of overthinking about this it’s driving me crazy. If you had covid during pregnancy and were not put on any special medication or injection and your baby was fine please let me know. Thank you

Fate88 · 04/01/2022 04:06

That is excellent news. The likelihood that your experience will be mild is excellent. Try not to worry.

There are lots of threads with similar concerns OP and loads of women reassuring you they’ve had it and we’re fine.

I had it at 37 weeks, all fine like a cold, well cared for by remote covid team - had to have blood thinners as a precaution but that’s it. Baby was born a week ago and is perfect.

I’d be grateful you chose to get the vaccine and try not to worry, it more than likely will be just like a bad cold. Early on isn’t as risky to catch it either - you’ll be fine :)

Sorry ignore the typos it’s late and I’m up with a cluster feeding newborn Grin

You are not overreacting, it's difficult not to panic when there is so much missinformation around.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry if you are double vaccinated. I know is easier to say than what you are feeling right now, but the vaccines have given you immunity against the worst of virus. You may have some cold symtoms but you and your baby will be ok.

PCR tests are showing as available all across the country right now. I’d have a go at getting an earlier test. Technically you haven’t got a key symptom but I wouldn’t worry about that. The Zoe app would send you for a test with a sore throat-I’ve been a LOT!

If you come back negative, I’d get your booster asap which will give you more protection and might put your mind at rest more if you got symptoms again. Flowers
