How do you get your child to hospital if you are both covid positive?

Just planning ahead to help my anxiety.
DS is poorly with covid. He has an underlying condition and is autistic. If he has to go to hospital he will need me to go with him. He simply won’t cope without me. So if I test positive then he needs to go in what happens? Can I still go with him given we would be going on a covid ward anyway?

I have a friend who was covid positive as was her newborn. He was admitted and she stayed with him the whole time, I believe they have a special area for covid positive patients.
Hope your son doesn't need to go in.

The self isolation rules have a specific exception: 'to get urgent health services for you, your family and pets'. You can find this on the gov.uk pages.

Yes you absolutely would but try not to worry, highly likely he will be fine Flowers

As above, a friend stayed in with her child whilst covid positive this weekend.

Super thank you. I know the odds are that he will be fine but I need to have every scenario covered in my own head.
