Do you think vaccines will become necessary for everybody

I've just returned from New York and everywhere I went I saw signs that anyone over the age of 5 must be fully vaccinated and produce a vaccine cert to dine in/reside. It has me thinking do you think vaccines will become compulsory for everyone worldwide in order to travel, go out for dinner or the cinema ect? Myself and my husband are vaccinated but we are just not sure whether to vaccinate our children yet. It makes me sad that if we don't vaccinate our children that we will never be able to go for a meal together or go on holidays or play centres ect. I've been trying not to think about it but unfortunately my oldest dc is now eligible for vaccination.

I think people will gradually look at the numbers and realise how unhelpful it is. I think those numbers are already growing

I think countries that open up with more flexibility will attract more tourists and especially families. I understand Croatia doesn’t require passports - we are planning a holiday there already!

Canada, New York and Italy - Germany and Austria - they aren’t doing any better so what is the point?

Plus surely these wealthy countries should be sharing supplies to the most vulnerable in other countries rather than boosting the non vulnerable in their own population?

I don't think it will become compulsory in the UK other than in specific settings such as care homes. So UK holidays and activities will remain an option.

So UK holidays and activities will remain an option.

As much as I want to go to the US again I'm happy to have my holidays in the UK rather than keep being vaccinated.

I think places that rely more on tourists from countries that don't vaccinate under 11s are the ones less likely to introduce restrictions.

Thatplaygroundmum · 04/01/2022 23:03

Are they able to do that?
Will be getting my DDs vaxxed but still…

Mexico has very high vaccination rates but it is all totally voluntary and our health secretary is an eminent immunologist who is against vaccinating children

I think domestically, no vaccination won't be mandatory to access leasure facilities and events. A proof of a negative test, however could be needed if not vaccinated.

For international travel vacations can easily be made mandatory. It's that or your travel insurance will look dismal. This would also make sense for countries that can't afford to vaccinate their whole population but rely heavily on tourism. It will be presented as a safe way to travel. lSame as with other vaccinations already recommended for some countries.
